For me keep him the extra season to secure automatic promotion, £600 000 is nothing in the great scheme of things!
He’s given us some very good years and probably deserves his move now. Loved him ever since he walked through the door and gave us his smile, will miss it that’s for sure and his commanding presence.
I'm pretty confident he'll stay. Look at his record, he wasn't exactly a journeyman as a player, nor has he been as a manager.
I agree, I think he'll go, but I think we can expect to receive 1-1.5 million for him, even with a year left. How we replace him and Thomas will be a key part in determining how successful we can be next year. Get the right players and/or get a lot more out of Cundy and McCarthy, and there's no reason to say we can't do well. We'll be needing a new keeper too, cos I expect neither of Collins or Isted to be here next year. I think the way we've managed that situation is daft, but that's for another day.
Connell's still got 2 years, so I'm a lot more confident of seeing him here next year. Someone's going to have to make the kind of bid he warrants - 3m + - to tempt the board to sell I think, because if he's here another year and gets us into the Championship he'll be worth double that. I'd offer him a new deal tomorrow.
I think we should be bending over backwards to try and get Thomas back. I've accepted that Andersen is likely to leave, but I think that Thomas is actually more important going forwards. McCarthy will be like a new player. Cundy - gives me the heebie-jeebies every time he's near the ball.
Mads was immense today and deserves to play at a higher level next season. He's already been noticeably loyal enough to BFC. He'd be Mads to stay.
Good luck to him if goes, good player but I’ve always felt he’s got the odd mistake waiting to happen. Good player but not irreplaceable and we have always had good recruitment in centre half area
Resigned to losing Mads, but he cannot be replaced with a novice like we have done previously. Maybe get a contract offer to Sonny Bradley? The board need to do everything in their power, and wallets, to keep duff. He’s more valuable than any player
All of Mad’s family were in Box Park pre game. His dad was in tears and had lots of fans going up to him ti shake his hand. There was a Denmark flag up too with smiling captain written across the middle. They came across as a lovely family who are were very proud on the day and soaking in every moment. Whatever happens with Mads, it’s fair to say that he’s going to go down as a bit of a legend. To echo what everyone else has said, the day was absolutely amazing. Took my 6 year old son with me and to share a visit to Wembley with him was something very special. Lots to be positive about for next season. COYR.
No banging on CEO door last season head down let's try and sort this mess out,go and enjoy the fruits of your labour Mads lad and thanks for your efforts.
Wouldn't have thought it would ever come down to money with Duff more geographic. Hope he's here for the next 5 years.. but football is a very transient business. Always better to keep a little detached to avoid disappointment.
