That's the 5th time I've seen us in the play offs (2 championship 3 league one) winning 2 (Swansea and Millwall) and the 5th time I've seen us play at the new Wembley (only missed the midweek Cup game v spurs) next time we go up make it automatically Londons a good day out but we can do that next season away at Charlton and Leyton orient.
It’s a good weekend don’t get me wrong but it’s a trek to get there, plus everything is so expensive. Wouldn’t be opposed to having them at Old Trafford / Vill Park.
Do you mean 4th time you've seen us at new Wembley? We've only been there 5 times - Cardiff, spurs, Oxford, Millwall, wendies.
The national stadium should be in the midands. Not necessary to have it in London. In 2016, we drove to both games and got the tube in from the outskirts which was fine. Yesterday we got the coach, which wasn't fine. Getting out is horrendous
This was my third trip to Wembley. New or old. You can guess what the other two were. Not going again. Sorry.
Considering the history of the club, I feel extremely privileged to have had the opportunity to watch us in the top flight, in an fa cup semi final, the four play off finals and the John stones cup final.
I'd probably always go to watch my club in a final if I could afford it. It is expensive though especially with a week's notice.
Always a privilege to watch your side at Wembley. Nice inside the actual stadium bowl, but with what they're doing to the outside, it's rapidly becoming not fit for purpose. They've built a small town around it, apartment blocks etc. Stadium barely visible from distance. Appalling access and getting away even worse.
Don’t get me wrong. If we got to Wembley again, I’d love to go. If I decided to give it a miss, after watching yesterday, the Cardiff and Ipswich games there, it would entirely be for the good of the club!
That would be my only reason to change my mind was if they played the final at a different ground but we know the greedy FA won’t let that happen .
After we went in 2008 and took over 35k there i thought the atmosphere was **** from both us and Cardiff. Yesterday I thought one side created a atmosphere and backed there team especially when we went down to 10 men.
Only been to three of our five Wembley trips. 1 game from the PL, 2 games from a major trophy, and chance to be promoted winning a local Derby. Wasn't bothered about tinpot or Millwank. Might not bother going ever again with my record of 3 defeats from 3 and back to back games we haven't scored in of those I've gone to.
And all in just 25 years. Amazing when my first 21 years supporting the club were all spent in the third and fourth tiers with no real hope of the (now) Championship.
Certainly feel privileged that we’ve had the chance to go so many times now. Went when we lost to Ipswich but was too young to really remember much now. Since then been against Cardiff, Oxford, Millwall and Wednesday so certainly had the ups and downs. Yesterday was very cruel and tough to take.
I started going in the 60s with my granddad and dad. Neither of them saw us play at Wembley. My dad saw us in the Premier League but granddad, a fan for 60 years, never saw us win anything apart from Division 3 North
I go to England matches and so visits to Wembley are very frequent nowadays. The whole 'Wembley' experience is less of a football ground and now more of an events arena. Every spare bit of land around the stadium is slowly being built on. Even from 2016 and before Covid the fan zones have decreased in size and scope twice. Soon enough you will barely be able to see the ground until you're bang next to it given the mini town they've built in and around the site. Drinking options are severely limited now, especially so given the latest restrictions on drinking along the sides of Wembley Way (which was never really allowed but kind of tolerated mostly). The Green Man, Boxpark and The Torch are the only pubs/bars big enough to handle a large following and these get filled to the point of it being pointless queuing very quickly. The Wembley Park tube station has always creaked under the pressure of crowds and does a remarkable job to be fair, but it isn't really sufficient as one of the two main transport options for a national stadium. Inside, the lower bowl sees queues for bars and toilets that would again put off the most patient supporters. Club Wembley is the bees knees but so it should be given the ticket prices. I'm not anti-Wembley, I was one who actually wanted the new stadium to remain there for tradition purposes, but it just isn't a great experience for fans nowadays, especially for those wanting a few drinks and a walk about. Box Park is great and the outside fan zone was quite good yesterday but there just isn't the infrastructure or alternative options to cater for the crowds.
