It’s never nice to lose at Wembley. Especially to a football club as stupid as Sheffield bloody Wednesday.
My only positive is this big, lovely, gentle man of football. I’m happy for him & him alone..
He took his team to 96 points, 23 games unbeaten. Usually enough for automatic promotion. Lost twice to us, granted..
YET. Suffered dreadful, disgraceful, personal & racial abuse from his own club supporters.
& is likely to be fired despite eventual promotion, by the fools at S6.
Here’s big Darren Moore, in a Barnsley shirt, at the tail end of his playing career. Guarding our goal.
In the words of dear Lou Reed-
‘I wanna play football for the coach.. & I’m gonna play football for the coach..’
Well done, big man. You’re loved here, if not there.. 9984EEAF-16FB-4DC2-A1CD-C765A110405A.jpeg

He's the only saving grace in this for me, he does deserve it, as Khaled rightly mentioned in that interview. The abuse he's suffered at the hands of his own clubs' fans is disgusting

You can change you car. You can change your job. You can change your house. Some actually change their wives but you can never change your football club.
    It’s with you for life.

Now, if it had been me, winning like that against a club i used to play for and who's supporters have been nothing but good to me, i would have acknowledged that support at the end. But perhaps my expectations are too high.

He's mentioned us plenty this past week. I think you're definitely expecting too much. Duff would be exactly the same, possibly mention Wednesday in passing, but that's it

I just think it would have been a basic courtesy and not hurt him to applaud the fans at the end.

I feel guilty for not renewing this season, these lads deserved more.

I won’t be making the same mistake this coming season.

Luca Connell managed it twice with the Bolton fans, despite getting dogs abuse through the first game. Just a classier winner, i guess.

Good to hear it. I was speaking to a couple of people who know you on the train on the way back on Monday who were adamant that they wouldn't renew until Lee and Conway have completely severed ties with the club. While I completely respect their point of view, I'm of the opinion that the current playing staff and management deserve as much of our support as possible. I can't wait to get behind them again come August.

Leaving Oakwell after the last game of last season I felt sick to the pit of my stomach. In 60 years of watching my beloved club I'd never witnessed such a spineless pitiful season, the club was rotten from top to bottom and I genuinely feared for our future.
Fast forward to Monday and as I applauded the entire staff for their unbelievable effort at Wembley and also for all they've done throughout the season I had a feeling of immense pride.
    I had my club back!
Well done to Michael, Khaled and the board, and I can't wait for next season.

I was sick they'd lost. Still am to a degree. Just the way my mind works I suppose. Cracking effort all season and some incredible moments but at the end of the day it was a failure. We failed to get promoted.

What's different this time round is the club is in a better position to move forward and has reconnected with it's support. Genuine optimism for next season has followed the pain of defeat.

The majority of posters on here and people I've had the pleasure of talking to have been very pragmatic. Long may that continue.
