All sky sports have banged on about is how loyal Barry Bannan is to Sheffield Wednesday and how much he loves the club...

You give me 21k a week & I'll sign for Wednesday... I'll probably score a few own goals though, for the laugh. But I'll definitely stay loyal 100 %

They’ve had some decent midfielders over the years, some of which I would take in a heartbeat despite my ill feeling towards anything Wednesday. Barry Bannan is not one of them.

I just don’t get the hype, you can read him like a book. Fakes going one way, turns the other and HOOOOOOOOOF a diagonal ball into Michael Smith. Players like him are ten a penny, however there’s only one club daft enough to pay the little swamp gremlin 20 grand a week.

I've always said he was over rated... one dimensional player

Wasted in that quarter back position. Should be playing behind the striker, but unfortunately doesn’t have the legs for it anymore.
He should really retire before Championship teams make him look like the old has been he is.

They wish he had the quality of Hourihane. He WAS a captain.

Bannan is one of the hardest grafters in the game, the game on Monday was a case in point, often it was Bannan getting the last tackle or foot in... cracking little player.

He was in Luca Connell's pocket most of the game so no worries

It was all about him though, you could tell he was playing for the glory of lifting the cup. For such a good player, for lifting a third placed trophy to be the highlight of his career ( after losing our on automatics!) tells you all you need to know!

He's a superb player at this level. Whether he's still got the legs to perform in the Championship is another matter, but any suggesting he's not very good is being disingenuous, and sounds more than a little bitter. Which I still am, but I have no qualms about recognising that Barry Bannan is an excellent footballer, despite his atrocious hair.

He’s quality. Wasn’t at his best on Monday though.

He makes a great ref too. Like an on-field VAR assistant just in case the ref missed anything he alerts him to what he should be awarding Sheff weds. Perhaps he was doing VAR too on Monday.

He’s not moving on anywhere no one else is going to pay him what he’s earning with them. That’s why he’s so loyal.

Amazing that the highest paid player by far on the pitch **** out of having to take a penalty, so made sure he was subbed off with hardly any time left. No heart.

A bit like the penalty shootout he took part in last week you mean?

It couldn't possibly be that at 93 year old he'd go cramp and had to go off like happens to players regularly?

I disagree there, I don't think he wanted to go off.

No need to be bitter, even though Monday was painful, to say he’s a poor player in division one isn’t right.

He had 13 assists and 7 goals last season, at Wembley probably not at his best but seemed to get across the pitch to get a foot in many times over the course of the game.
