Would be very surprised if any of the first team squad were back for that one. Training for them wouldnt start b4 that. I'd have thought. Mon 3rd at the earliest. (Just a guess) as the players would only get just over 4 weeks off. Most new players if we sign any their contracts wouldnt run out till June 30th normally. Although they can sign pre contracts b4 then. Went last year. Great set up.
If I remember right it was really early last year as well. It was really good last year so I’ll certainly be there again.
So far as I know Worksop A 1st July Penistone church A 14th July Hull A 18th July Buxton A 18th July Peterborough Sports A 29th July
Poor choice friendlies again give .me bielfield away again ipnthete with one best away trips ever the Germany trip.
Agreed. Always very samey type friendlies. Absolutely spot on to give local non league clubs like Penistone a decent pay day, but the rest? Let's play some foreign teams for a change.
Was stated at the last meeting nothing planned for this pre season abroad. But in the pipeline for next year.
The only ones of those I would GUESS may be 1st team squad is Hull. And a slight chance of Peterborough sports. Who are in the 6th tier I believe. Worksop, Academy/U21s can't see 1st team back. Penistone church Academy/U21s Buxton, Academy/U21s game clashes with Hull. Trialists will be in Academy/U21s Possibly Athersley rec will get a game. I think there have been close ties.
Where mate. Cos according to Hull city site. We can confirm our first batch of pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship campaign. Liam Rosenior’s men will make the short trip to fourth-tier Grimsby Town on Saturday 15 July (3pm) before hosting beaten League One play-off finalists Barnsley on Tuesday 18 July (7:45pm). Also players back on 26th june according to Chronicle. (Little surprised if that includes the 1st team squad, in that they weren't given another week off) Time for Barnsley to put out the full list and teams appearing. Eg 1st team squad or u23/21/18s. May have busses to organise if enough interest. Wendy at home would be a gud un so they can fill our ground 10 times over for the revenue. £35 a chuck. . Preferably while I'm away lol.
Tbh mate I'd have thought the other way round would be obvious, as it usually (but not always we played Crewe last season on the academy pitch) is for clubs that are from the lower level. To be at home for the revenue. Strange one.
