He will never get in the City team. He couldn't even command many starts at our level and rarely looked like scoring. Good luck to him and I like his confidence, but I'd not want him back on loan next season anyway.
Can’t fault his efforts, could see he tried, but he is a complete cart horse and I hope Wembley was last we see of him. As for Watters, bone idle and looked like he didn’t give a f’k during his spell here apart from the MK Dons away game. Said this before but we have better players in our youth sides and instead of developing players for the likes of Man City and Cardiff we should focus on our own. Or what is the point in having an academy?
I agree with this, unless loan signings are of better quality than what we already have then stick to permanent signings or giving our youth a go.
bang average, if you're not scoring regularly at 23 in League One I'm thinking your chances of getting in the City first team might be limited!!!!
Good luck to the lad. Not quite good enough to make us better, but he was a better signing than Watters who looked to me bone idle and disinterested most of the time. But then I said the same about Cole a few times. Maybe just a striker thing. But if Erling Haaland can roll his sleeves up and graft like we saw v real, if Harry Kane can cover more yards in a game than anyone, then a pretty average football league centre forward should at least have effort as the first prerequisite. Tedic did at least have a go. I’d be astounded - and I’ll admit a little disappointed - if we attempted to sign Watters. Tedic I’d take but I suspect we’ll see him on loan at a top division side somewhere in Europe next season.
We can utilise the loan market but they have to be better quality than Tedic or Watters or theres no point. We have a good team currently but no so good squad. We brought Russell on in the second half on Monday and he was Weds best player, Benson, Thomas then possibly Cundy all dont fill me with confidence when they come on. The money we spent in fees and wages on players like Russell, Watters and Tedic could be spent on a proper player.
remind me of peoples thoughts on Ivan toney...... I think he will go on to do well. Good luck to him.
tbf I don't recall anyone at the time raving about Ivan toney. I could name a lot more strikers that we've released, that haven't gone on to do anything. we can't hold onto every player, in the hope they might one day come good.
Loads of potential. Don’t think it’s Man Citeh potential but I can see him playing at a good level if his game develops.
I have a feeling that Norwood was carrying an injury over the last few weeks of the season. Possibly knee related (he definitely had strapping on it at one point). Maybe that influenced the decision.
Ugbo was much maligned on this board and while he certainly was no world beater in his time at Oakwell he was only a bairn. See him now he's 24 and making a great career for himself in Europe and rated at 4 million pounds.
Yes and Toney was also a bairn when we had him. Isnt Tedic 23 - I think both Toney and Ugbo were far better at 23 than Tedic is now
Best of luck to Tedic I liked him. He reminded me of Mitrovic. Started off 5 hit and got his confidence towards the end. I'd have him back because he's got class and will get better. Be another Chris Wood or Ivan Toney. We didn't see the best of him but he'll do alright.
Yeah on his instagram he put up a pic in the week before the game with some kind of recovery medical boot on. Reckon he’s been playing with the injury through the last weeks of the season.
exactly. im referring to folk writing tedic off as not up to it to play in the top league. Same with Toney thinking he werent that great. Not comparing the players attributes. trust in duff. He will bring in what we need.
My wife's a little hard of hearing and said to me during iFollow commentary, "Who's this ten inch bloke?" Something I can't now unhear so my message to him is - All the best for your career Slobodan, just let it hang...
