I’ve hate Roma since 1984 when they bribed the ref in our semi final European Cup game (Fact) Meaning they would face Liverpool in the final in the Olympic Stadium. Utter scumbags and I celebrate every time they get beat. 39 years after that event and I still hate them with a passion.
Can't remember who Leeds played in a European final but the ref turned down two of the most blatant penalties you'd ever see and I thought at the time the ref had been bought. About 15 years l later that ref was convicted after admitting to accepting bribes throughout his career. May well have been the same one - I think he may have been Turkish. Edit It was AC Milan who had bribed Christos Michas in the Cup Winners Cup Final
It was Bayern Munich, Bechanbaur ran the game and told the ref what to do. Evidently later it came out that the same ref had my met up with directors of Bayern in a cafe pre match
