To be honest I won’t be getting one if they don’t. The price for a new st is not that much cheaper than pay on the day so will just pick my games wisely.
As with any sale, the impact is that people think they’re getting a “good deal” and that helps convince them to pay up. If the price was permanently at the early bird price I don’t think you would get that many more people buying them. Other options would be a monthly subscription for say £40 that you could cancel any time, or as was mentioned by some one earlier or on another thread, 5 or 10 match discounted tickets. These would be probably in the realms of birthday/Christmas gifts and we’d obviously sell quite a few around Xmas if we were playing well.
Isn't that a little unfair on those that bought season-tickets after the EB window and also bought Wembley tickets?
Bradford is a city to be fair. Much bigger catchment area (twice the population of Barnsley). Their vastly-reduced pricing - whilst commendable - hurts them financially, making it more difficult than it should be in getting out of the fourth tier, and highlights how small their gate would be without such pricing. They do have the away fans in the Midland Rd stand, on the side so they can charge them more. And for example, it's £35 dearer for kids at City than it is at Barnsley. I think Huddersfield do a better job from this sort perspective. And as always, hats off to them, and City, because it's definitely bold and fan-friendly. Think Donny are trying similar this year, and with McCann going back, I hope it works for them because otherwise, they're ripe for a return to non league. Our early bird pricing that was available for two months was great value, our junior pricing is second to none and most tickets, even at full price work out at less than £20 per game. Already sold more than we did last season. Can we do more? Let's hope so. I think there's some great plans on the horizon, but time will tell.
What about those that were unable to go to Wembley? Illness, affordability, wedding, funeral etc. is it fair that they are excluded? What about those who already bought an ST at full price. Do they get a refund of the difference?
Would anyone really be bothered/upset if they opened up the early bird at a slight increase but well below full price. for a couple of weeks (especially after the cost of Wembley) . More the merrier for me. I've Paid for mine. (People also had monthly payment choices maybe that could be re-introduced) So it's out of the road and forgot about so to speak. Some on here want the club to entice people to buy packages but not a full season ticket at less than the final price. 2 months to go afore kick off . Deals can be done.
I want a free season ticket hand delivered to me by Michael Duff, who just so happens to be holding his newly signed 20 year contract in his other hand.
They declined me.. I have to contact V12 finance, nothing the club can do regarding applications with the finance company. Unfortunately finance is only way I could afford a season ticket
Contact V12. Did you act as a guarantor. For someone who failed to make payments. I've known one or two fall foul on that. Also there are some free credit score rating sites. I can look at mine on my banking app. ? Edit Sorry just realised your credit score is good. But found this Even if you’re paying off existing debts without any issues and think you can comfortably take out a loan, this might result in too much unsecured debt that you may not be able to repay. Lenders, such as Shawbrook Bank, have a range of “affordability indicators” which are used to determine someone’s ability to keep up repayments. They tend to look at someone’s disposable income, and if you will be able to meet repayments if your circumstances change.
Whitey, I know I keep banging this drum and I'm not having a go at you but do you really think we do enough to attract casual non season ticket holders that pay on the day. I had seven years where I worked Saturday mornings, never knew until the actual day unfolded whett I'd be able to get to the game in time. What I did know was that if I took the risk I'd be paying £20 plus to be given one of the worst seats in the Ponty on the front two rows with the kids or £25 plus to be seated in the very top corner of the East stand and end up with neck ache. And those prices were seven years ago. It's not going to attract a casual fan who fancies an afternoon at the footy. Those casual fans lost never get the urge to become permanent ones.
Also, some would have pushed the boat out to buy tickets for Wembley and may not be in a position any time soon to buy season tickets. Why torment them with offers they can't afford?
What the club should do is offer a 7 ticket book at a discount, give you an allocated seat in a split North stand and allow you to turn up for any match with one of your tickets. This might also work for people who live over a certain distance as well, for example.
I got my ticket thru early bird scheme and would not bother me one bit if that scheme was reintroduced again now, also if anyone bought one at increased price then refund them the difference…..more the merrier for me
Why north stand. Do you know summat we dont. ? A 7 match pass maybe. but as with other ticket purchases online. Pick a seat from those available from the map. In the stand you have chosen to pay for. Spaces permitting.
Absolutely agree surely we know the names of the ones that's paid the full price can't see it been many give them the difference back and let's cash in. A fuller Oakwell is to everyone's benefit and I would like the pay on day to be as cheap as possible not everyone can afford a large upfront cost lets not penalise them too much.
If you have an allocated seat it means you can get 2-3-4-5 however many tickets are guantee you can sit together, if on a saturday you're faffing around on the website its just more hassle and might not get seats together. Let's face it only Derby will possibly sell out the away end next season, even in championship it happened once or twice a season max, no great loss splitting it IMHO.
I think the club have got it spot on as it is , early bird was on offer for 2 months offering a discount for buying early & convenient ways in which to purchase it , even after the time elapsed the full price was still far cheaper than our competitors from sheffield 6 who were in the same position as us with not knowing what league they would be playing in, they even put their early bird up for sale last december which for me is far too early especially with the cost of xmas . I have started saving already for the following season & budget from april to april , it is a 12 month period in which to save, if fans cannot afford it other options are available but I suspect a lot do wait until the end of season & see who is sold who is bought etc before deciding which is fine but by the same token they cannot be expect to be offered early bird offers at such a late stage .
