Season tickets

Yeah but there's plenty of reasons people didn't have one last season but can next season. I've got one for next season because I've retired and don't have to rush to get there. Didn't finish while 2 and parking was hard to find.

 

Trouble with a dedicated seat is what happens if everyone turns up on same day or do you mean each person has their own?
If it’s second option you are then effectively stopping revenue for the rest of the games they don’t turn up for.

 

More to the point we will not sell 3 sides out in any game in my view. Loads of spaces without the need for the north stand. Even 4+ together. Took ages to sell out wendy and Bolton. If you have a pass. get in first.
Splitting it I would like to see. But it might not happen. Certainly not for small numbers. Should that/those allocated seat/s be held for 7 games for a full season till the person decides which to go to on the day. Totally unnecessary in my view. A pass yes. allocated seating at the beginning of and for the entire season absolutely not.
Faffing about on a saturday or any day of a game and there are 5 of you intending going is not a common scenario. Tell me of Any club with such a scheme and I'd still say it was impractical. No need.

 

Why not? Why do we need to reward those renewing early? Let's just get as many people in as we can and grow the fan base?

 

Yes most football clubs take fans loyalty for granted and treat fans as cash cows. I agree.

 

This was going to be my point. I'm all for using the goodwill from Wembley, etc. to generate more ticket sales, but that opportunity has passed. The problem being that the EB window has passed, so any discounted tickets now would draw the ire of the fans who've paid pull price already. They'd probably want a refund, and rightly so.

EDIT: Also, we can try and make POTD tickets cheaper, but they cannot be less than EB season ticket prices, as that defeats the EB option.

 

I always renew at the earliest opportunity because I want to keep my seat. It’s not the greatest view in the ground, but I am surrounded by top class folk and don’t want anyone else stealing my football ‘family’. The discount for renewing early is just an added bonus.
But…we have just had in the region of 15,000 NON-season ticket holders travel to Wembley to support our team. Why not dangle a bit of a carrot, to them, and give them a bit of an incentive to get on board next season.
(Disclaimer; Shrewsbury, at home, on a cold Tuesday in December doesn’t have the same feeling as a warm bank holiday Monday, at Wembley, but it still feels great to be a part of it)

 

I said the other day, anybody with a match ticket for Wembley should be offered the early bird price. There will be people who went who will buy a ST off the back of that game. But on top of that, incentivise ST holders who bought tickets for some of those people to try and get their mates along. Credit in the club shop & additional loyalty points for anyone who helps sign up a friend.

 

You are not rewarding people for buying early , its like any commercial offer , I could get cheap beer at the supermarket last weekend because there was an offer on, I know i am going to buy beer so I bought it when it was on offer , alternatively I could have decided that I am not going to buy it when its on offer I will buy it a higher price at any time I want, the choice is mine , if people want to buy a season ticket as I do then I know every year the actual price will be discounted for a couple of months , its my choice to buy it when it is on offer simple as that .

 

I think that's a great idea. Or at least offer a substantial discount.

 

I think the jump is too large, it's basically prohibitive to late comers.
It's never impacted me personally I had a season ticket from prem season upto last season (relegation) and I always just renewed. I have always just thought since we brought in EB the "normal" price has been a punishment price. That's the clubs choice. I didn't renew following relegation, I had to decide before this season ended if I wanted to come back. I decided not to, if I wanted to come back now I can't without paying the "punishment price" I will not do that. So I'm once again not going to be attending, the longer I don't the less likely I am to come back.
From my own personal experience this feels like a bad strategy. But as you say I knew the score and so be it.

 

"Because we're offering a discount to people who went to ******* Wembley". Did I get the job?
