If you could choose to be born at any point in history or the future when would you choose?

You would have to live your entire life from that point so for example if you choose to be born in 1892 so that you're watching Barnsley win the fa cup as a 20 year old that also means you're probably living through at least one world war.

Despite all the crap we endure in this day & age, I still think this is the safest we've ever been.

But I would love to go back and see reactions to stuff like realising when the Polio vaccine worked, meeting people like Florence Nightingale, Marie Curie & mad heads like Tesla & Einstein. I'd also love to meet Alan Turning and thank him greatly - hide him away so he doesn't suffer the horrendous things he went through after being such a vital cog in our safety for decades to come

Edit - obviously I'd love to see Stonehenge, Pyramids, Hanging garders of babylon, Lighthouse of alexandria etc etc... too much to decide - I'll stay where I am :)

I was born in 1977 and always say I was born 20 years too late so then.
    3rd January 1957.
I'd be 9 years old as England lifted the world Cup I'd see the Reds come from one of the worst eras in our history to the great, great Clarke/Hunter era then see my brilliant little football club reach the top table of English football.
Then the music, Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Deep Purple, early Rush, Genesis, Pink Floyd,Bowie, The Jam, Saxon, AC/DC, etc all touring regularly during the 70s/80s.
    Awww man!

Bit of a sombre one I know, but I’d go back to 3 October 1998 and not let my 21 year old son go to work. He went from Oakwell to work on 12 hour night shift.
He never made it home. Lowest point of my 70 years on this mortal coil.

Hypothetically, putting aside leaving my family ect I'd only want to go forward. As has been said never has a better time to be alive for humans existed than now, for all our failing as a species.
I'd like to try a thousand years and see where we are. If we are still here at all.

    I’d go back to 1887.

See Barnsley St Peter’s formed. Watch the FA Cup win, see the Titanic set sail and if I have knowledge of today then do what I can to stop Titanic sinking

I was so lucky to be born in 71, I believe anyone born around this time who was lucky enough to be young during the 80s 90s got the best of times, cheap beer, cigs, bus fares, houses, decent wages and no social media. I realise it was tough before and its certainly getting tough now for young people. I believe I was lucky.

I think anyone saying they'd go forward is absolutely barmy. I'd give us 150 years tops for civilised society as we know it. We're developing our own existential threats.

Also as long as the disparity between the richest and poorest grows wider living standards will drop. There's a good chance things have already peaked.
