Hopefully condemned by everyone. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...n-utd-fan-arrested-hillsborough-b2350950.html
Pity some clumsy copper couldnt accidentally forget to cover his face then publicly appologise to him by name
His punishment should be getting dropped off in the centre of Liverpool and left to fend for himself.
They should name and shame the retailer he got it from and if he got it through an official Manchester United outlet they should throw the book at them as well!
You would think that something as horrific as Hilsborough would overcome football rivalry. How can someone make sick jokes like that.? He probably get off with a police warning, and the only thing he will suffer is the the moral outrage and critism of every normal person. Which will be water off a ducks back to him.
Out of interest, what could he actually be sent down for? Would they just argue freedom of speech/expression? No clue about laws
I think you have it in a nutshell there. Watever legal censure is available is likely to be week and ineffective. Whereas the outrage is immense. You have to admit leaving him exposed in Liverpool though equally wrong appeals to the feeling of outrage.
Outraging public decency is an indictable common law offence which is punishable by unlimited imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine.
The problem is that while the link to Hillsborough is pretty much undeniable to the majority of people it's also not something that can be proved. He'll just say it refers to 97 points not being enough for automatic promotion from League 1. Or that he feels there weren't enough beans in his tin when making beans in 6 toast. Or anything else that he's able to come up with. I'd be surprised if he gets more than a slap on the wrist.
