I've been chatting with him on and off today. He's still feeling pretty down, but he's hanging on in there.
Great! Glad that you're conversing with others on the board. Keep talking to those you feel comfortable talking to, you're doing all the right things by the sounds of it. We're all willing you better.
Has anyone watched that interview with Grealish & Stones on the BBC? John is such a humble lad.. honestly proud of him.
You're one of our own. That means something to people on here. We might bicker or have wildly different opinions on music/politics/whatever. But we're a family of sorts and there's a common bond, even if it is as simple as a BBS for a football club. Chin up. Things will get better and in the meantime you've got a lot of folk willing to listen to your moans and, as witnessed by the generosity shown in getting fans to Wembley, provide genuine help if they can.
You’re not alone pal. I was wondering how many people would find the Wembley to be the final straw to rock bottom. I’ve been feeling pretty shitty all week. The thing to remember is, you’re not alone. I don’t know you, but I am always available for a fellow red…. Or anyone else for that matter. Take care pal.
One of my best mates was his geography teacher at Penistone. He still keeps in touch with the school and goes back in regularly to see his old teachers and chat with current pupils. He dropped in literally the day after coming back from the World Cup in Russia. Very down to earth, with time for everybody.
Lovely manners too, the way he waited to shake Gary's hand before disappearing. Made me laugh Grealish doing two interviews!
I know for a fact that after Russia 2018, he phoned his old PE teacher to ask if it was "ok" for him to drop into school and say hello!
Top lad is John. I have a family member who's known him since they were both really young school kids and he can't speak highly enough of him. All the stuff that went down with his childhood sweetheart Millie Savage he is completely on the side of John and doesn't speak well of her (as she went to same schools and lived in same area).
Won't lie, got a bit emotional reading through this. I've met very few people on here but it's clear to see what an amazing community there is. Heartwarming to know everyone has each other's backs like this @TrueRed92 can't really add much that others haven't already said, but I'm always up for a chat and will help in anyway I can, though I'm not local to Barnsley (yet)
@TrueRed92 - apologies I'm very late coming to this conversation. And I'm so sorry things are tough right now. Hang on in there. And please don't hesitate to reach out to someone if you need to. Many of us seem to spend half our lives on here (myself included!) and so it's more than likely someone will be here to talk. PM me anytime pal.
