The Wigan board have just resigned apparently https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FxyY6JZX0AEFSoh?format=jpg&name=large
Disgraceful actions by........Barnsley that is. New board in....in 3 weeks from some dodgy Nigerian scam...and they will be signing Mads Anderson for £2 million and then blaming us yet again, when they don't fully pay us and get another massive 3 point deduction (suspended for 10 seasons) and a strong worded letter from the EFL. Wigan will of course promise it will never happen again and Connell will get a 3 game ban (served concurrently with McGeehan, where ever he is).
Maybe they could buy Wigan? Their fans are desperate for new owners. They could have Obbi Oulare as part of the deal too.
We don't know how many of their fans it is exactly, but 'some' of them are ridiculous in blaming us for what happened. You just can't get it through to them that it was wrong what they did, it was against Efl financial rules, and not for the first time either.
Honestly I was quite excited with him. Had rave reviews. Just obviously that broken leg or whatever he had really put a dent in it. Wrong to sign him in hindsight but definitely was behind it when we were first linked
Think Wakey was referring to Oostend but yeah, I always had time for McGeehan. Always gave 100%. He was never quite as good as he thought he was though.
Reading the statement issued by the resigning directors it seems Wigan still need half a million pounds plus per month to stay alive. The ownership group will never see this money back again. So why on earth did they ever get involved?
Now they’ve put a statement out saying they’re expecting to sell the club in the next day or so. Very strange.
Not sure about that either. I think Lee & Conway in particular, are at fault for a large proportion of spunking our money up the wall
Take the point about Barnsley currently, but the thing about Wigan is that they seem to be in the same position permanently.
Surely we would then recieve a 24 point deduction by tricking them into a transfer we knew they wouldn't pay for! Disgusting
The football club would not have been able to pay wages throughout the season without cash injection from the owners.
