    Who’s writing him off? Certainly not me. I was merely commenting on a comparison made with Mads start at Oakwell. Yes his initial appearance was promising which makes his subsequent showings hard to understand

    I would love to be proved wrong. But whenever hes receives the ball, my natural facial expression that I unwittingly adopt could only be described as the same as if i was watching my clumsy 10 year old daughter on a trampoline holding a ming vase.

    Sorry but I have seen very little to suggest Russell will improve enough to be a regular 1st team player. His control and thought process needs a major overhaul.

    I think there’s a lot of ability there. And one thing we know about Duff is that he can get players to apply and focus or he bins them quickly so I’m confident that he will help Russell see in some ways we are a lifeline he needs to grab.

    And now you have a couple of months to put that right and come back next season the player that your ego thinks you can be.

    Well done Jon and well deserved. Played 14 games for us and only on the losing side twice against Ipswich and Wednesday. Signed playing catch up after barely playing for Huddersfield in the first half of the season. Not easy to then be a bit part player behind Luca who should have got POTY.

    I have high hopes for him for next season with a Duff pre season behind him.

    Weird one for me this. He came on at Wembley for goodness sake and looked totally like he was a rabbit caught in the headlights. Think midfielders are the ones who have to battle the most and go forwards and backwards and so far I just don’t see that in his skill set.
