Emailed club numerous times about an incident that happened in the home leg of the playoff semi final against Bolton. My daughter who is 18 and had a season ticket since she was 4 purchased her ticket for the game a few days before.on the night of the game she went to the ticket office to pick her ticket up from the box office she asked for her ticket and the box office asked for I'd she handed over her season ticket and the woman behind the counter said this is obviously NOT you this season ticket says Miss and your obviously not a Miss your male she was quite upset by this after about 30 minutes she did get her ticket but when she went to take her regular seat someone else had sat in it and refused to move so she went to see a steward who refused to move them out of her seat and said just sit anywhere. So she was separated drom her friend who she always gose with. She left at half time because she felt uncomfortable with the situation and says she's don't want to renew her ticket
Saw a similar issue with people going to the wrong seats, or seats being doubled booked. At the north end of the east stand lower. It wasn’t a great experience as far too many people were in that block. Hope you get a response.
Sorry to read that. I see the same on our official coaches like to Wembley where people aren't made to sit in the seat on their ticket, so groups get split up and can't sit together.
I'd ring the club and ask to speak to the CEO or try contacting JAQ on twitter if you use that platform
I hope it gets sorted ,not very nice and be a shame to lose a supporter of long standing who enjoys supporting The Reds.
I've also emailed the club three times now re issues and not had any response at all. It's just not good enough, as paying customers with genuine questions / concerns an acknowledgement would be the very least I would expect. I also witnessed issues in the Bolton game with season ticket holders seats being double booked and people refusing to move. I intend to write a letter in the next few weeks as there are a number of issues which I feel I need the club to act on. Might have to actually drop it off at Oakwell reception, see if that gets a reply.
She lives and breathes Barnsley football club the amount of shirts and Barnsley fc merchandise she has in unbelievable I was going to renew this year with her after the disastrous season we had when we got relegated under Conway i personally kept away but she said no she was still going it's a shame it come to this
If you don't get anywhere, drop me your contact details by PM. I'm sure I can get someone at the club to contact you.
I've just sent a further email with my issues as a 'complaint'. There is a complaints procedure published on the BFC Website here: https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/club/ComplaintsProcedure/
"... this is obviously NOT you this season ticket says Miss and your obviously not a Miss your male ... " Wow. That is bad. Your daughter must have been mortified!
An apology would be nice hopefully in a few week she will want to renew her ticket at the moment she says no chance
As an aside to this….. The West Stand Upper always suffers from people sitting in the wrong seats when it’s a busy game. There’s very little signage to show the actual blocks. And seat numbers reset for each block. We’re only using blocks C, D & E. but it’s a right pain. It’s annoying and could easily be resolved by the block being shown on the roof area at the front.
Yikes! That is absolutely horrendous. To be honest, if I was CEO, nothing short of renewing her season ticket free gratis/ and some mandatory training for the staff member responsible would be my response, especially since your approaches to BFC have thus far been ignored. It is bad enough accusing someone of not being who they say they are but to accuse them of being a different gender/sex is totally unacceptable
