https://www.efl.com/news/2023/june/efl-statement-regulation-changes--summer-2023/ Have banned towels to use for throw ins. Perhaps we need a nice flannelette shirt this season. Over to you JAQ
How about some large hot air driers built in to the cones holding the multi balls then the players can pick up a nice dry ball. In any case if we don’t re-sign B Thomas or play Cotter there isn’t much of an issue for us
I wonder if they've made any effort to address the standard of refereeing, which has been inconsistent at best, and incompetent at its worst.
I'd have banned kicking opposition players in the box, or outfield players using their hands to save shots on the line, before towels.
Or even players intimidating referees... ...oh, wait a minute, there is a rule about that; but let's concentrate on towels instead. To55ers
Has anyone else been past the EFL Headquarters in Preston? It's a tiny little 80s brick building that looks more like a solicitors firm who don't quite know what to do now the golden age of personal injury and PPI claims has passed. Occassionally you'll spot an overweight, greying, grey-faced man having a f*g in the car park. Staring into space wondering if anyone really cares where he is. Shirt untucked the same way he does to loosen himself up at the strippers on a Thursday night, a splashed stain down it from last night's curry in a tin. The whole shebang needs a rethink.
This would also give an advantage to the opposition, you'd have to give everybody sat on the front row a water pistol.
He already did, I think that was his thinking when he touted the idea of dog turnstiles, quick rub down with a shaggy pooch, problem solved.
No you only turn them on at the end we are kicking towards - the end we are defending the sprinklers malfunction every few mins spraying the balls
No but Cotter will replace Williams when he goes and he can throw it just as far. Didnt we score from one of his throws at Pompey?
The towel thing won't make a difference. We've had three long throwers with Delap, Roberts, and Thomas without ever looking like scoring from one. I don't like the new rule of multi ball on cones positioned around the pitch. Stick to one ball and just get tougher on time wasting. You're gonna end up with people scoring an hat trick and going home with a ball they didn't score any goals with.
Yes we don’t score many from long throws but that one at Pompey this season was brilliant. Cotter fired it in like a missile and the ball was soon in the net. Those floated, aimless ones from Thomas were a waste of time.
