We’re applying for a grant at our local rugby club Featherstone Lions / may be registered as Featherstone amateurs I need the business/charity number, the date the organisation was established and the turnover at our last set of accounts. We’re a non profit organisation the chairman is leaving the recent invester is leaving and a lot off committee. At AGM in July we’ll be a whole new committee and will get out community team back. how do I obtain this info as no one is helping at moment and this grant needs submitting today
Apparently we’re not a charity but do not have a business number so what’s are we ahah. How do we got turnover
You should be able to get the charity number at least from the charity commission. https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/charity-search
You could be a community organisation to get your bank account. That's what WSB was deemed as. Gave access to business bank account but was simpler on admin side. It did mean we weren't eligible for lots of grants & funding though.
The only way to get turnover if not filed with companies house/charity commission would be through your bank statements I assume. I'd be surprised if a local amateur rugby league club is registered as either must admit.
So what is turn over, the clubs only income is subs and bar. it itbthe total income into the accounts? unfortunately the “investor” is leaving and he’s on the bar account and can we **** get statements
Just to correct that slightly, your turnover would only be any money incoming - from any source. Also referred to as revenue or income. If you deduct the outgoings from that, then that gives the profit/loss figure.
so basically we can easily work out community account by multiplying number of kids by subs. or is there an easier way to just see this on statements? but we will struggle with bar account as we don’t have access?
How did you run things before then? Did you not have an accountant or anything. It always seemed a decent little set up you had there when I was growing up. For example haven't the outgoing Chairman and recent investor got any financial contacts.
It’s a shambles mate to be honest and we’re picking up the pieces. We’ll turn it around and will be be better for it but hard work ahead
I'd suggest you're better off just totaling the income from your statements. Lots of banks let you export to .xls and just sum it from there to get revenue. Simple x kids x y subs might be off if ppl started part way through year etc. Better to be accurate if you're going for grants etc I'd assume.
would you think we ok to just do community account, the base doesn’t make muck and basically just runs it’self and ticks over. Apparently anyway. Nowt comes from that account in main community/club account
We never had any issues with one. The bank account is simple - it's more if you're wanting to apply for funding etc then you need to decide what type of org you want to be classed as. We had co-op community account and was easy enough. Might be some better options now as it was ten years ago.
Just confirming @Dyson Reight this grant got to be in today. We have all statement from April 22 - March 23 Right to add the money in on top of every statement and that’s our turnover ?
My mum helps with this sort of thing - she helps companies set up charity status. She works at s at Voluntary Action Barnsley if you want to give them a ring. She may be able to advise you on your best course of action
