Oh yeah I forgot about him, but it appears Duff has as well. Strange signing. If he couldn’t dislodge Tedic or Watters out of the team I don’t really have high hopes for him and clearly Duff doesn’t rate him. Also, when I say experienced striker I mean someone that has played in this league before and has scored goals.

 

I can only think that it took him longer to get up to speed with what Duff wants him to do. I expect him to feature heavily in pre season. So with Cole, Norwood, Shaw we could possibly do with one more and then Jalo on the bench occasionally to bring him in gradually. Marsh is 20 now and at the age where he should be playing regularly. I know he's been unlucky with injuries but I fear he may just not be good enough for our level.

I forgot about Shaw which is not surprising considering the impact he’s made so far…..

 

We won’t know if Marsh is good enough if he doesn’t get the chance to play and show what he can do. The season before last in the Championship Marsh and Wolfe were the only highlights of that dreadful season, Marsh even scored in the last game of the season. I thought last season he would’ve kicked on and played in this league but we instead loaned him out where he consequentially got injured and had his season wrote off.

 

If we want promotion Cole and Norwood need to be impact subs at best, 2 quality strikers needed in my opinion....... No idea if Shaw is any good either.

 

Marsh needs another loan out I think. Wolfe I'm not sure we will see again after his bad injury

 

Did we ever find out what the injury was to Benson in the playoff final , not heard owt unless I’ve missed it .

 

He had ankle surgery a few days after the game.

 

Bloody hell the lad only seems to have bad luck,I honestly think there’s a good player in there if he can just avoid injuries.

 

Not sure what to make of Oli Shaw.

Do we gamble on him or loan him out?

 

We’ve literally just finished a season where we got 86 points and they were our main strikers. They’ll be our main 2 guys next season, and they’ll score a bundle. They’re both now used to the Duff way and Norwood will hit the ground running rather than spending first couple of months getting fit.

Them 2 stay fit, we have a very good season. Trust me.

 

Hope you’re right but I can’t see Cole hitting 15 plus goals again. We definitely need a new main man up top if we’re seriously targeting automatic promotion.

 

Good to have in the squad but if we have real aspirations of getting out of this league we need better. Norwood is a great option from the bench or for 60 minutes and Cole just goes missing far too often in games where there are no tap ins, needs a proper all round striker next to him.

 

Cole and Norwood are good enough, but I’m not sure we’ll win the league with just those two. Add one class league one option then we’re talking. Jalo, Marsh and Dyer filling in as the 4th choice.

Maybe Shaw will get loaned out?

 

Hopefully Shaw has a good pre season & hits the ground running, he came here under Duff so he will have had some input on his signing & I will trust Duff to get the best out of him .

 

How many strikers have we brought in on loan at a similar age, that have gone on to have a good career, after not looking great with us? We need to be patient with Marsh, and any other strikers coming through.

 

Whilst I agree in a way I think he needs to be loaned out again and hopefully stays injury free and finds the net regular. Jacob brown had a loan spell in league 2 came back and was a very useful player for us. Hopefully the same happens with Marsh everyone wants him to succeed as he is a barnsley lad.
