The poor lad is made of glass. How long is left on his contract? Might be a case of getting to the end of his contract and him getting released. Shame because he has ability, his body just isn't standing up to the task for us.
Duff rates him and thats good enough for me.For a promotion push you need a squad not just a first 11.
Which is fair enough but I'm sure a more reliable squad member is more valuable than a player constantly on the physio table. Last season he was out from the middle of December until late February. The season before he was out of the squad a total of 18 league games.
If that’s 3 months from now he might only miss about the first month of the season so not too bad but the lad definitely needs a slice of luck or the injuries are going to kill his career with us.
Don"t understand your comments really, the lad made over 40 appearances last season & scored 6 goals from midfield, if he has had is op now & it takes until the start of the season to get fit then so what , hopefully he will be fit & raring to go by september / october & will be like having a new player to boost our squad .
Disagree, needs a run of games to get his fitness levels up. As someone else posted Duff rates him so let's stick by the lad.
He looks a decent player to me, a bit injury prone maybe. Hopefully we keep Herby, Luca and Cadden and Benson will be available in september as backup.
Massive shame, an injury ruling a player out of the whole preseason makes it doubly difficult to get fully up to speed after recovery. I wonder if we’ll ever get to see his full potential.
Harsh. I doubt he wanted to get injured, 18 minutes after coming on as a sub at Wembley, then be told he's going to miss the first 3 months of the new season. The lad must be gutted.
Going into the last year of his contract I think. Must be one of our top earners and apart from the first quarter of last season he's been a massive disappointment. I know it's not his fault with the injuries but we really can't afford to carry passengers in the squad with a tight budget.
Not in any way blaming Josh. His time with us has been a few highs but more lows so, on balance, it’s not worked out for him. He’s a good player but just not often showing it
Don't think he should be written off. He'll be pushing for a starting place in September. I don't think we would have lost had he not got injured at Wembley. Well, not in extra time anyway, maybe on penalties. Must have been a right choker to get injured at Wembley and although three months isn't great, he'll be back soon enough. Then it's up to him. I don’t think we've seen the best of him yet. Maybe we never will, but he's still plenty of time to prove his worth. He might not be first choice, but he's second choice in plenty of positions and he'll get his chance.
