AN UPDATE FROM THE CEO Club News Khaled El-Ahmad met with members of the press this afternoon to discuss a variety of topics here at Oakwell. Continue reading on the official site...
Considering what he came into he's kept his belief on what he wants the club to achieve.Potentially the best CEO we've ever had in my opinion.
For me, if you add styles and Leya iseka to this squad it improves it immensely. Styles we know what he brings to the table, Leya Iseka I think should be given a chance in League 1.
Iseka has got to WANT to be given a chance. If he still can't be arsed, he's not going to get anywhere near the first team and we will have to look at shipping him out on loan again.
Iseka was shipped out due to his attitude last summer so if that's not changed I can't see him getting much if a look in at all. Styles didn't want to be here last summer and thought he was better than league one which is why he was sent on loan to Millwall, I can't see him changing his mind on that opinion either. If it was my choice I'd sell both for whatever we can get for them and invest back into new player(s)
In my opinion, iseka is better than both watters and tedic and styles walks straight back into the starting 11.
With Styles and Iseka, it's entirely up to them. If they're just going to sulk around and wanting to leave, then off you go. If they're going to turn up and not be wanting away, they could add to the squad.
Didn't want to be here last summer. If his attitude has changed then give him a go. If it hasn't, sell up. If I'm honest, I didn't seem much of him to suggest he'd walk into the starting 11 ahead of Cole or Norwood either to be honest.
Hungary didn't qualify. It was Helik who wanted to leave to increase his chances of playing at the world cup, after the Poland coach said he wouldn't pick anyone at this level, and he missed out on the squad anyway.
Still waiting for the big news though, it was a bold statement so hopefully we won’t be waiting too long for some announcement
Nope, especially when you consider our average last season for the games against smaller opposition wad just below 10k.
Football wise you might be correct on both counts but mentality is a massive factor in Duffs way of playing so If you have a player who doesn't even want to be here (Styles) or a player who is lazy, hard to control or selfish (Iseka) that will impact the team, and I'm sure the manager won't want them around the dressing room if that is so.
My thoughts too. This cannot be the big news where the journey begins together down the road to the stars and beyond.
Iseka is a strange one because in pre-season last year the footage I saw of him showed him in a positive light, ready for the new season etc. He was shipped out to a club in Istanbul, and his brother Batshuayi also plays in Istanbul, so maybe there is something there in terms of family and wanting to be closer to his brother - maybe they lived together during his loan spell for example. Iseka has previously spoken of personal struggle, we will never know the full story.
