I'm just glad Barnsley F.C gives players at either end of the age spectrum chance to do well. So what if Norwood needs stilts and Cole didn't like hanging washing out. They're good enough for me. They will be until somebody says otherwise too.
That Ruben Rodrigues signed for Oxford. https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/2023/june/ruben-rodrigues-joins-oxford-united/
You think you were right but the fact that he scored 15 goals & was our top scorer proves you wrong btw, why don"t you let Duff decide if he is good enough or not ?
Never said he was lazy just doesn’t get involved tracking back, challenging etc unless ball drops to him he’s ineffective
I think imo that Duff as brought the best out of Cole. 15 goals is not prolific ,but still ended up top scorer. I'm hoping he can kick on this season and better that . I agree with competition ,I'm not sure Watters and Tedic offered too much of that.
While the improvement was obviously there to see in Cole. It left me thinking he should still have got a lot more than 15, in that squad, and in the season we had.
Agree it should have been 16 he had a perfect goal ruled out for the ref blowing up too early. I still think he was our best option out of what we had.
Back in the 1989-1991 period, when I lived in Perth, WA, my Friday afterwork drinks venue was the Parmelia Hilton. I ran into Lisa in the reception one Friday, when she was in town for a concert. I also ran into Warren Mitchell at the bar, when he popped down from his room for a bottle of wine. I just thought I'd share, for no apparent reason.
Yeah he was and as I said, he (and Norwood) got better as the season went on. And it shows the importance of having a good manager and coaching team. But I still think in the season we had, 15 is a low total for a top scorer.
I think you have got pencil in the fact there were goals throughout the team, one match we had every outfield player on the pitch that day who had scored a goal this season which is an amazing stat & although both Cole & Norwood did not break any goal scoring records their contribution & team ethic helped towards goals coming from all over the pitch, neither player had any penalties or free kick goals & I think their actual goal contribution deserves more praise .
Talking of a possible new striker, to either be competition for places, or to maybe be a genuine starter up front etc. Do we have those options already maybe, with both Iseka and Jalo ?.
