He could have categorically denied that Mads will leave and you'd assume the same thing.

I dont think you can necessarily infer Andersen is leaving can you? I did like the general tone of that statement though and the belief that the club is stronger. Also sounds like Duff is committed. Nice to see the fans and, noticeably, the council mentioned as parties that are getting re -connected. Generally a very positive statement.

If he's commited left-wing back. If he can't be arsed left back in the changing room.

I wouldn’t drop Nicky Cadden on last season’s performances.

I don’t understand any clamour for Styles coming back into the team. I don’t know where he fits, I’m not dropping Cadden, Connell or Kane for him put it that way.

I’m also guessing the new contract puts him as one of, if not the, highest earner at the club. Don’t think we will carry his wage unless he significantly improves the team. I personally don’t think he does.

Not that i think he’s a bad player by the way!

He's a known entity, he's on our books, and despite some insanity that some have spouted, he's a very talented footballer. Put it this way, if Kane, Connell or Phillips got injured in August, would you prefer Styles or Jon Russell? If Cadden gets injured, would you prefer Styles or Jordan Williams playing LWB? I think he's a great option to have, good for competition, and I believe Duff will get a tune out of him if he wants to.

Don't get some of the overly positive comments on here about Iseka. I've seen absolutely **** all from him so far to suggest that he's capable of scoring goals at this level although I'd love to be proved wrong. I suspect he will be one of the higher earners and it would make sense to get him off the wage bill.

Read the second of the three paragraphs in the transfer activity section. You're capable of reading between the lines. If he's not talking about Mads after four good years of service, then I would be amazed.

I don’t disagree with any of that really. I just don’t think we can carry his wage unless he’s the star player. Talented lad of course, but not done enough to show me he can be the main man and improve the side.

Listen to the audio interview. It certainly doesn't give the impression that he is definitely going to leave,i think he talks about 3 different scenarios in the case of Mads, and Khaled also states that no players from last season have asked for a move. (Be surprised if he is here though with 1 year left on his contract)

We've probably carried more in the last 12 months if you factor in Styles, Iseka and Oulare. I can't imagine the three loan clubs were making a huge wage contribution. Now we've got Oulare off the books I'd rather keep Styles as a squad player than bring in someone new, which is always a risk. Others may disagree. Styles will also need to show willing too of course.

Duff won't deviate from 352, and I don't think Williams and Cadden would be half as effective at full back as they are at wing back when they're bombing down the wings. Kitching would also be more restricted and less able to venture forward as part of a centre half pairing. I can see the logic but I don't think we'd play with the same freedom.

Well this is it. He might have no choice but to show willing. I think everyone involved was hoping he’d smash it at Millwall. They’d be happy and pay a decent fee, he establishes himself in the championship, and we make a few quid (which we have to do sometimes, nature of the beast).

I can imagine the scenario where no-one is willing to pay what we want for him and we might be his only choice! If that does happen he needs to buckle down and get on with it.

Leya Iseka is a lost cause. If we can somehow get him off the wage bill, you might be right and we might be able to afford to integrate him into the squad.

Hate this time of year when all the players and staff are on holiday. It’s torture not knowing who’s going to be here and who isn’t!
