    He has been awarded an OBE already and I was once told that it is frequently a stepping stone to knighthood.
    It is not very often that someone would jump straight to a higher award.

    It seems feasible but have no idea if it’s factual

    Once you are given a honour you have to wait 4 or 5 years before receiving another. He got his OBE in 2021, so he won’t get a knighthood until 2025 or 2026

    Don’t some village postmen and lollipop ladies get OBE’s ( no disrespect to them ).
    Kevin should have gone straight to a knighthood.

    Do it for others especially when they have no link to something. People wait for something bad to happen to someone they are close to and then get involved in fund raising and raising awareness. Like losing someone to cancer and then doing a marathon for Cancer Research for example. If you want to help a good cause do it before that stage.

    What Kevin had done is nothing but amazing and deserves recognition for it, but you can’t compare the two.
    The likes of Postmen get theirs for years of unsung service to the community not a couple of years fundraising.
