Wish this idea had been 10yrs ago as I'd have definitely been up for it but sadly I'm very much in the lapsed fan category these days but good luck with it.

I’ve worked in Donny for over 20 years in a job where I meet very many football fans, and I genuinely know more Donny based Barnsley fans than what I know actual DRFC fans.
From the cross section of folk I know, out there, I would say Leeds are the best supported club in Donny, followed by SWFC/MUFC then Barnsley.
I’m not even sure if Donny make the top five!!!

I've always said that the club should target the surrounding towns and villages when using incentives to get fans to attend regularly. I work in Wath, and even though its Rotherham I bet I come into contact with more Barnsley fans than I do Rotherham. When offering tickets to schools and junior football teams, the club should include areas on the edge of Rotherham, Doncaster and Wakefield, as I honestly think they're the areas where we'd get the most joy in securing new long term fans.

Tickhill now. Went to Don Valley 79-85. Didn’t know any other Barnsley fans or any Rovers fans. Mostly Leeds.

A Wednesday fan mate of mine went to Wembley on a 12 seat minibus from Conisbrough Cricket Club. On that coach was him plus eleven Conisbrough based Barnsley fans so, you are right, we are pretty well supported in the close surrounding areas.

I think they’ll be more than you think. From living and working around these areas, Mexborough, Conisbrough, Denaby etc have a lot of Barnsley fans living there.

As posted above, the club could easily target these areas and be successful.

In woodlands and there’s loads of BFC fans in my village alone , also know of fans in Carcroft/Skellow etc . Remember mooting the idea with Alan Bloore years ago but sadly work took over . Be great to get transport from Donny home and away as I’m sure there’s be lots of interest . UTR

With Huddersfield being my favourite away day, I've always noticed that on the way to/from Huddersfield (changing at Wakey), a lot of Reds fans caught the train from South Elmsall

I see loads of Barnsley Shirts round here on the North side of Donny.

Since I’ve moved out here I’ve always been surprised by how many reds fans live out here
