You don't think he'd go? I hope you're right but I can't see him turning it down if offered.

A bit of loyalty and confidence in his abilities to keep Plymouth up. No wonder the Plymouth fans rate him.

I genuinely don't know. I don't know Michael at all. But I wouldn't think it out of character if he didn't from what I've heard him say. I wouldn't be surprised if he went either for many reasons, but I don't think it's out of the question that he would stay if an offer came in.

Yes. Money isn't everything. He fails at Swansea, he can wave bye bhe to the Bristol city job closer to home for eg.

Being reported on most sites now. I've no problem players or managers moving on for better money or bigger things, but please, spare us the "here for the long haul" bollo¢ks when you arrive at Oakwell. You can still give it all the 'big club/great challenge/great fans' $hite, but stop with the 'want to build something great' cobblers. Treating us like fools and just makes you look a weapons-grade tit.

Puts him in a decent position for the Burnley job if say they get relegated and he does a decent job at Swansea.

You'd turn down a job for a different company that pays double what your current employers pay?

Let's be right, if he gets sacked at Swansea he'd still get a top end League 1 job without much trouble.

When appointing a manager, if they want a release clause, given the implications of the post ie spending club money on a system they want , would it be too much to insist any such clause shouldn’t kick in until the two year mark?
There are plenty of comments along the lines of wouldn’t you move for more money, but a football manager is a pretty much unique position and I don’t think a couple of years commitment is too much to and if he does bale , I for one would feel crapped on !

Swansea are a very ambitious Club, and we're behind them in the pecking order. We're also in the Deadman's league. So putting these three things together these things are going to happen.
We can change 2 of the 3 factors though.

Personally I would. Money isn't everything. Obviously if it was a case of no job at all I'd have to take what was available.

Can you point me in the direction of something that's reporting he's gone?

All I can seem to find is loads of links to that independant article from yesterday that merely says they're interested in opening talks.

Talking about your current job and not managing Barnsley here?

I think you're either telling porkies or crackers. Especially if that job came with better facilities, the opportunity to recruit better personnel etc.

Forgetting the Pompey links, imagine if Southampton went in for Gary O’Neil now instead of Martin…
