Darren Moore. We just need a decent caretaker manager until he's available. 6 games should be enough.
Dave Challinor gets my vote. No point saying Chris Wilder, as I just don't think it's realistic. He'll be asking for daft money.
Ever since Disco got involved in the setup I was expecting him to step in whenever Duff left. I did think that would be in a couple of years time though after Duff had secured us in the championship and taught Devaney a thing or 2 in that time. If Duff is to go now, I’d be phoning Wilder as soon as the decisions have been made. Plays a similar formation, similar style and needs to rebuild his reputation a bit. Assuming he lives close to/in Sheffield too so people wouldn’t need to be going on Google maps every time a championship side sacks a manager.
Would he though? He’s not been amazing in his jobs since Sheff United and was in talks with Reading. Although that last part doesn’t prove much I guess as they’d probably be offering well above their means. I don’t think it’s as unrealistic as it was maybe 12/18 months ago.
If Duff goes then I’d be happy with Disco, he worked with Duff, knows the league and the players. He knows their strengths and weaknesses.
I don't think Mark Bonner at Cambridge is a bad shout to be honest. Another young head coach who doesn't have a bad record.
Jon Brady at Northampton. Similar to Duff in a lot of ways. Knows how to get promoted and got a decent win rate.
