Not watching but maybe Stokes fancied Anderson to get some reverse swing with the old ball? New ball taken now I see.
New ball done little and as always it's actually easier to get the ball away with new ball. I think the nature of the pitch was why England didn't take it.
Feel even better about my comment if you disagree, usually a good sign! Haha But seriously I do understand that and I'd love to see us hammer them in a no contest. But this is cricket and you stand up and respect your opponents and acknowledge its good for the Test game overall if we see thrilling 5 day tests. The efforts of both teams have been brilliant.
It's really one of those that could have gone either way. It's pointless analysing every little detail of the game to exhaustion. 4 more tests to go and plenty of cricket to be played.
The declaration on day one was a rash decision for me. We had the Aussies by the throat and could’ve added 50 or more runs. If you’ve got the Aussies on the ropes you have to hammer home the advantage. They’re one hell of a tough side to beat….
Definitely. The declaration, Bairstow's misses behind the stumps and we faltered slightly in the second innings. Will be extremely tough to come back from 1-0 down.
Too many mistakes. Declaring too early, dropped catches, missed stumpings, I think the third earliest in test history seven bowlers have been used, and the most stumpings in an innings since I think 1990 West Indies.
Fair play to the convicts, found a way to win - some strange Captain decisions like the declaration. Think the Aussies will go on and win the series now.
