I cannot believe how run down old Trafford is . Couldn’t hear a word they were saying on sound system ( concourses are like being behind west stand ) £30 for me and my son which I don’t think is bad at all though . £14 for two burgers outside ground wasn’t the cheapest though haha Saka is unreal
A joy to watch mate Appreciate the opposition they were up against but some goal no matter who you are playing
I recently got belters for suggesting old Trafford isnt a world class stadium anymore, as it stands. For reasons you mention. Its massive, but very dated and dilapidated. Needs a lot of work done to it, including lots on the training ground too according to United fans
Unpopular opinion but we both said that pass was only made good by Saka. It was a hopeful punt. Saka had loads to do to make anything out of it.
And we said the opposite last night, it’s a long time since I’ve been but a still think it’s a right stadium, we was sat near the dug outs and was almost on the pitch so we moved to the back at side of the media section and the view was brilliant…….below the concourse was spot on, we had a walk around the Munich tunnel at half time for some fresh air and that looked really good down there……there’s obviously some works required but the stadium itself is class imo……what did strike me was even though it’s the 2nd biggest stadium in the country it felt loads smaller than Wembley. Back to the football, Saka was unreal, the game was another comfortable victory but…….how good is John Stones????? Lad never broke sweat, he reads the game so well he barely has to brake into a sprint as he reads the game so well, get that statute banged up sharpish BMBC
Acoustics have been crap in Old Trafford for years , saw Springsteen there some years ago and it was one of the worst concerts sound wise I’ve been to and he has top sound guys working for him
Nah I’m not having that. Looked up and put it right into his stride. I mean Saka’s subsequent touch and finish were unbelievable - he had no right to do that from where he got it - but the ball from TAA was no ‘hopeful punt’
The new owners won't waste time in improving things. Because of the amount of season ticket holders, one of the options whilst Old Trafford gets improved is to play at Wembley and give free coach travel to every home game. 7 quid is a bargain compared to the tenner the van outside the west side of Wembley charged at the play offs, with their six quid chips.
I too went to the match and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve been to Old Trafford a few times and the stand I was in (North West Quadrant) lower tier was fine. Clean, non slip floors, easy access in and out and to food kiosks and toilets and a good view of the pitch. I’ve followed Barnsley for donkeys years and have been to many a worse ground than Old Trafford. A mate of mine is a Man Utd fan and he told me a good place to park 10 mins walk from the ground where there was free parking. When I parked up, I got talking to the family in the car in front and it turned out they were from Barnsley. On the way up we stopped for a drink and bite to eat at a place alongside a roundabout called “Six Trees” where staff were friendly and the food not only good but reasonably priced. Once inside the ground, it turns out the bloke in front of us was also a Barnsley fan and had a quick chat with him although I doubt he’ll remember much about it as he missed most of the goals and game whilst he was at the bar! Seemed a decent fella though who followed both Barnsley and England home and away. Straight out after the match, ten mins back to the car and then five more minutes to get on the M60. All in all a good night and enjoyable experience. I’d much rather watch more England games around the country than be sat for hours getting to and from Wembley.
No chance. Outstanding pass, bounced perfect for him & didn’t need to change stride. Did a similar one on Thursday too & regularly plays world class passes
I remember when we got hammered there in the prem and I spent the whole game with my feet on tip toes due to the lack of space behind seats in the corner of the stand and that for a very expensive ticket back then! A big rebuild is long overdue (at least 25 years) and they have that huge car park to redevelop on directly adjacent a la spurs. Never been so squashed at a match and I’ve been to a sizable majority of the league grounds.
