I do understand the anger, although I don't have it myself. I was that person once, I'm not anymore. I thought he'd leave, and it looks like he will. I'm only interested in Barnsley Football Club. I'm far more annoyed at the silence from the Club, than him leaving. The fans deserve better. I want it confirming, because every day it rumbles on, it creates more instability. It's another day the Club has lost, planning for next season. I care about what this means to our recruitment. I care what impact this has on our current players and staff. I'm surprised some of the older fans still feel this strongly though. They've seen Wilson, Heckingbottom and Ismael all do basically the same, so this really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. For me, I accept the next manager will leave if they miss out in the play offs. So they should also expect to be sacked if they don't make top 6.
Totally agree. As I said I think he could be justifying his stance on the grounds that he's done what he set out to do - not that I agree with this. Most people like to think of themselves as reasonable and true to their word and can create all sorts of internal justifications for their actions when in reality they are talking out of their ar$e (or so the Mrs tells me when I've yet again failed to crack on with my job list) I'd prefer him to stay and see the job, as we see it, through.
Let's see what transpires but it's looking like he's off isn't it. If his motivation was for the project, then he should at least build on last season with the drive to get us up automatically. But maybe his motivation is now elsewhere. As for the jobs list, as long as it's shared between you then you do em in your own time mucker
He didn't think he would be as successful as he was as quickly as he was. He looked at the squad and thought: bloody hell, we've got top weight on here. He predicted a year of consolidation, then a play-off push in the following season. No one is head hunting a Barnsley manager that finishes 10th in League 1. He thought he'd be here a while before being noticed so could confidently talk about a long term project. But he got us up the top end of the division much quicker than expected and he got himself noticed. When he said what he said he believed it. Things change. But remember, he came to us from his home town club. The place where his career started both as a player and a manager. Cheltenham is where his wife is from and his family and where he lives. He left them for us. For anyone to expect he'd have more loyalty to us than he had for Cheltenham is bizarre. He left them when he had a better offer. Of course he'd leave us if he got a better offer. Even if he doesn't this time, he will. And it's not because he's disloyal, just human.
Cheltenham to Swansea - shortest route - on the scenic Heads of the Valleys Road A465 - via MERTHYR TYDFIL - he could stop off at Y Dic Penderyn or at my Nain's in Merthyr!
He'll be sheep shagging, drinking Brains and paddling in the Taff quicker than you can say, "new wellies please".
The River Taff (Welsh: Afon Taf) is a river in Wales. It rises as two rivers in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) the Taf Fechan (little Taff) and the Taf Fawr (great Taff) before becoming one just north of MERTHYR TYDFIL. tbh I've done two of the above - still unsure about the third !
