I get that. It's dispiriting. Unfortunately every successfful coach in my lifetime has left quicksticks from Clarke to Wilson to Ismael to Duff.
The only way around it is to appoint someone completely off radar with next to no credentials of success because in that way they won't demand a release clause. That way we're hoping that a complete outsider comes good and is tied into a contract.
Unfortunately many fans would kick off big time if we appointed someone like that.

Yeah I've just kind of said the same thing in my last post.

I wouldn't even entertain a release clause. I understand that greatly diminishes the pool of available coaches but it is what it is. I also get that in the modern game, it would be akin to suicide from the board.

I'm excited for the new manager appointment, hopefully it's Moore. I don't care for anyone who doesn't want to be here.
    Can't wait for next season
    You reds

So there we have it then, turns out he was a bullshitter all along and just the same as all the rest of them.
I'm glad the club has published his comments because they show him for what he really is.
Come on You Reds, time (again) for new heroes.

    Several questions from me…

    1. Why has the Club taken this long to communicate with the fans?
    2. Has he taken any staff with him?
    3. He says he “learned of interest from other Clubs”, but in Khaled’s most recent interview, he said there had been no interest. So who’s lying?
    4. Why did they allow him to put a statement out on official channels?
    5. What assurances do we now have over key players following him?

His statement has angered me tbh. Especially ending it with ‘You Reds’. Seriously, stick your statement up your ar$e. I find it insulting.

I’m really disappointed to see so much stick coming the Board’s way though. For me, the decision to leave was firmly in one direction. If you’re going to vent your spleen, vent it at Michael Duff. Don’t take it out on the Club.

    We move on.

I think he's chatting rubbish personally. Of course it's at least partly money orientated.

He joined us from Cheltenham for Christ sake and we needed to insert a release clause for him to take the job in the first place. Shouldn't have even bothered.

Football manager is one of the few jobs where you get rewarded for failing.

“During the latter points of the season I learned of interest from other clubs, but my focus did not waver from Barnsley."

I wonder if Chansiri was sniffing round when they were wobbling

The club will get a lot of people applying, they have picked absolute numpties in the past, no release clause or should be £2 million, rather then being the cheap option. As 4th choice it basically looks like Swansea were searching for a cheap option and we provided it to them on a platter.

Shows now just how much the referee at Wembley really has cost us.

Yep. I don't blame him for moving. I do blame him for trying to claim he was above all that sort of thing. F**k him. No more than a short term footnote in the history of our club.

Not completely money orientated. Don’t know who he’s trying to kid us or himself.

It’s word for word what Cheltenham said about his move from them.
