I'd personally not be unhappy with Disco. Knows the club and playing systems inside out, presumably respected by the players, intelligent and articulate. Continuity is what we need, not upheaval.
As much as I like Disco, him knowing the club and all that. It would be an underwhelming appointment for me. Just my opinion.
I tend to agree, but for me it sort of depends what state the squad is in at the end of the summer for me. If by some miracle we manage to keep most of the players together then continuity would be great - I've got a horrible feeling that we'll be starting more or less from scratch though.
You think the board told duff who he should play and how many times?? Give over.. Wilder would want total control on transfers I'd imagine and that won't happen.
Ask my lad and he will say Disco is his favourite player. He won’t know why, as he’s never seen him play. On a human level Devaney and family are settled in the area, and he’ll have a decision if he wants to put himself on the burning platform that is to be a club manager or not.
I can't get past the Shambles when he took charge for a few games, he actually made us look less organised than we were under Schopp and Poya. I'd love him to continue at the club but not in charge.
Oh I get that. I’m not disputing him being a great bloke. Just don’t think he’s the answer to what we need going forward.
I'm not sure anything that happened at the back end of that season is a very fair yardstick to judge him by!
I agree and appreciate i was being harsh but as job interviews go it was a poor one, I'd much rather us go for someone with a bit of experience and not risk undoing last season's progress. Absolutely love for Disco to continue coaching with us.
thing is he may be a decent bloke and we know him, but how many outsiders do , he’s hardly an attraction to new players is he?
You honestly think the women's national team manager would give up the world cup for a third tier side?
Aye, why not. We were the second (I think Torquay went shortly before us) club to appoint a black manager, why not be the first to try a female one?
