I have no doubt someone from the club looks at this board, so please do not appoint this man. I know he’s been linked with us several times in the past and I’ve counted my blessings that nothing has ever come of it, as his brand of anti-football has always been horrible. But last season, with his disgraceful Shrewsbury side he took it to another level. The Sack Race has printed a list of what they say are the odds for the next new manager. I’m pretty sure they have just made it all up, but the top three made me shudder. I would be very unhappy with Danny Crowley and Lee Bowyer, but if we appointed Cotterell that would be me done, after 46 years. Please BFC board, don’t go down that route!!!
Seconded but add Joey Barton to the done with list and I'd be very unhappy with Karl Robinson too I dont think the board are likely to appoint any of those though - at least I hope not
Danny Cowley 4/1 Steve Cotterill 6/1 Lee Bowyer 8/1 Leam Richardson 8/1 Dave Challinor 12/1 Luke Williams 12/1 Darren Moore 14/1 Martin Devaney 14/1 Chris Wilder 16/1 That's the list, quite possibly the worst list iv ever seen.......
If it’s Cowley or Cotterill then I am done. Although we do have a history of employing PE teachers…..
Dave Challinor - that is an interesting one. Win % rate above 53% (over 650games!) Loads of promotions, be it at a lower standard, arguably an equal or better pedigree than Michael Duff. And we would be good at long throw ins!!
Devaney should be a big no too, this season is going to be defining whether we win promotion or stuck in league 1 for a number of seasons. I want us to keep devaney as a coach but manager not yet. Wilder for me but wouldn't be a no to Moore either.
I would not go to another game with him "in charge", people call Moore a Dinosaur long-ball merchant. just wait until you get to watch Cotterball every week.
Cotterill was Duff and Devaney’s manager at Cheltenham and he was ok then. Local boy, ex-player and the Robins would have probably given him a job for life. A good fit but, like most football people, he thought the grass was greener elsewhere. He’s failed everywhere since then. We certainly should not consider him.
No we just like to sell our players after a couple of seasons and then whatever players we get to replace them are gambles, current crop we know are good enough to win us promotion
Wilder is a blunt through and through, its like he can only get up for it with them. He's done nowt everywhere else he's been. No ta.
