It’s rubber necking news JD, that the more basic individual is drawn to. Of course it’s fascinating, with the glamour & mystery of the Titanic, how can it not be? I followed the story too & dearly hoped they would be found alive.
But anyone who thinks these lives are anymore important than those 300 migrants lost last week, is guilty of discrimination. Point that out and they tell you to ‘grow up’. I’d rather not, if it means being like them, frankly..

Always same. Some on this thread I hardly ever see them post on b

Nobody on the thread said they were more important but if I posted memes or joked about the 300 migrants like you have constantly I doubt many would be okay with that. I'm not going to because it's not really my sort of thing.

But you're the only one that has visibly discriminated in this post?? Pot calling kettle black

My memes weren’t supposed to be funny. Tragic, yes. Ignoring the sad parallel between the submarine & the migrant boat isn’t discriminatory by itself, but call out someone who does have the conscience to recognise it, certainly is. :(

Are you saying Boris has gone straight in, pontificating about something he knows nowt about, without checking facts or reading up on what actually happened first?
And are you further alleging that Boris is excusing the ignoring of safety guidelines.........surely not.

Can't be bothered arguing you have visibility discriminated. You've made your opinion clear and your stupid memes with the helicopter etc if it was the other way round someone posted it about the migrant boat you would be the 1st to cry.

Who’s said them lives are more important than those crossing the channel? You’re trying to force something that’s not there imo!

If I put a ‘meme’ of some empty lilos floating in the channel there’d be a meltdown on here…….

You called me out for suggesting it, told me to grow up. Do yourself a favour mate, don’t get involved, if you can’t keep up. :)

I posted a migrant boat meme, neither were taking the piss, both regretting tragedy & disproportionate coverage. If you can’t see that, then I can’t help you. Soz.?:)

Where's your posts and outrage at migrants dying in the channel then?

I think the point Mr C is making is going way over your head.

Sorry it is going way over your head. The point Mr C was making was that 5 rich people die in a sub and the BBS is captivated by it, 500 sink on a boat in Greece and hardly anyone gives a ****. If you can't see that and why that is upsetting then christ Im not sure what else to say. He wasnt taking the piss at all.

I don't think the charity swimmer who died in the channel last week got anywhere near the media attention of the sub or any migrant boat. Why isn't that mentioned ah because there no political drum to bang with that one.

The two are separate tragic incidents. I don’t know why you’re arguing.? The sub got more coverage primarily because it was about the titanic. There is still such an interest in the mystery of its sinking, and that coupled with the mystery of whether the occupants would be stuck at the bottom with the time ticking. That very real feeling of claustrophobia of thinking about the occupants being stuck somewhere inside the titanic obviously drumming up interest. If the sub had survived, the movie of the rescue would have been a blockbuster. A little bit like the Tham Luang cave rescue of the 13 stuck in there. They weren’t billionaires, but the rescue captured the imagination of the world.

So no need for point scoring or politicising this issue.
