And you have windows open late into the evening, why does some absolute Bar Steward always have a fire?

No fire near us tonight but we have people sat outside watching Glastonbury at high volume. I bet it’s amazing when you’re there but live music blasted out of cheap speakers sounds ****. I quite like Lizzo but her singing ‘Special’ followed by her flute playing was absolutely painful when heard across the gardens.

My wife insists on the windows open as soon as it gets above 15 degrees, but won’t have the fan on when it’s like actually hot because it keeps her awake. That’s fine but she’s deaf in one ear and a nuclear attack wouldn’t wake her up, meanwhile I’m a light sleeper so get to hear every taxi drop off, the seagulls at 4 am then the general magpie and dove noise from about 5.

Get some earplugs - we live right near the Dearne Valley Parkway so I have to use them unless I want to listen to all the boyracers all night!

I don't have issue with it, I just close the windows...same when my neighbours have a bbq ...infact my young next door neighbours are very thoughtful and very considerate, they tell us in advance and always give us a shout, to close the windows when they are lighting it...being vegan the last thing we want is the house smelling of cooked meat...its mutual respect on both our parts I guess ...same when they are having a party, they inform us and always say you are more than welcome to come round if you wish...they always apologise before and after if its going to be/ or was noisy...which isn't a problem...
They have a dog, which we occasionally look after and who goes absolutely scatty when she sees either one of us, often dragging them down the street no matter how hard they resist, infact they make less noise than the single guy who lives the other side of us ...hes 67 ...that said we only hear him when he gets carried away and shouts at the telly whilst watching football or cricket...our 8 year old granddaughter often says ...I think **** is upset again, I reply how do you know that... she replies, because he's swearing at the telly lol
We consider ourselves very lucky that we have nice neighbours and do our best to be equally as nice
