When Andersen was unavailable last season, Liam Kitching was captain. I'd be a little surprised if that wasn't to be the case in the upcoming campaign.
I'd not argue with that. He would certainly lead by example. Big season for Liam - I was really impressed with him, after having pretty much written him off in his first season.
Kitching is a good choice. Strong, always fully committed, matured loads last season, appears popular with the players and, most importantly, it might save him a couple of yellow cards, as captains tend to get away with more than the rest of the team. There was a reason Alan Shearer was made England captain!
Best reason I've heard for choosing a captain to be fair. If he also wore black boots he'd be head coach material. Unfortunately he wears pink. Or orange. Or sometimes one of each. He'd be playing in his socks if he brought them and I was picking the team.
Not sure. Think Kitching's a bit too shouty shouty. Has he got a calm enough head to be involved with every dispute with referee and opposition captain? I hope so but not sure. I'd be tempted to go with Norwood, based on his years of experience. But understand he might not play every game - so maybe Phillips?
Bobby Thomas would make an excellent captain so doubly vital we get in for him asap. Vocal and takes issue with referees too. When Kitching did it last season he hardly said a word and I don't think we did all that well in those games. I remember a good few times players just stood around looking at each other waiting for some leadership.
Think he had a go at watters at Wembley for not tracking back. Nor sure what to make of that but shows he gives a ****.
Thomas would make a great captain but I imagine he seems himself playing in the Championship rather than League 1. I doubt we can afford him. Wouldn't be surprised if he turned up at Swansea.
I only saw 19 games last season, 14 away an 5 at home, if Mads gone we need to replace him as Captain, and i'll abstain an see who we bring in.
