Assistant Manager Goalkeeping Coach 1st Team Analyst Head of Rehabilitation Wonder if they want any of our staff in those positions
I wonder why this sort of thing happens in football and hardly any other industry. There are such things as employment laws, even in football surely. I'm not too bothered about manager's getting the push because they are rewarded handsomely but lower down the pecking order will get peanuts.
I think people look at the other coaching positions if things are going badly. It stood out under Schopp and Asbaghi. However, if the Head Coach knows his apples it doesn't matter so much.
Within two years of starting a job - unless its provably discriminatory - you can be fired for any reason. Most employment protections only kick in after that time. And redundancy protections are limited in the first two years too.
Imagine Paterson will definitely go with him. We sit behind dugout and there’s a member of the staff who regularly chats to Duff. I think it’s Thomas Fawdry, our goalkeeping coach, so wouldn’t surprise me if he went as well. Be good to finally find out.
I think they quite often get the remainder of their contract paid up or at least a proportion until they find alternative employment. Plus, football is the gift that keeps on giving - very few other jobs (maybe MP) reward failure with another job at the drop of a hat.
Any time someone in football is 'released' or the like, it generally means they've been paid off. They're essentially all on fixed term contracts, rather than as full time permanent employees.
