Yes, whilst the hip and trendy were baking at Glasto, I took myself off to East London to see Abba Voyage. Now I realise that Abba is not everyone's cup of tea, but I make no apologies for having one of the best days of my life there. Spent with my two girls. (Almost missed it thanks to East Midlands Trains but that’s another story). Has to be the best show I have ever been to, and as the mother of a live-performer I feel quite guilty about that. But it was simply incredible. Just looked on in amazement. I won’t spoil it for those who might be inclined to go - but if you like Abba music it’s just an unbelievable experience. Also, if your partner/ wife/ husband is into Abba and you want to earn the best Brownie points of your life - buy this as a gift. You can not go wrong.
Not an Abba fan but I must admit it does sound like an interesting concept! I would definitely go if they did something similar for acts I couldn't see live i.e. Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana. What does your daughter do, is she in a band?
It’s just a different level in terms of technology. Even without the holograms / avatars the light show is another level. My daughter is at Uni doing Musical Theatre but has been live performing on stage for 10 years. She was equally amazed by it all.
Not done the Voyage but did the Mamma Mia party at the O2. Surreal evening, great fun if a bit pricey. Love Abba.
I love ABBA, not sure if that’s my thing though & that Mama Mia thing only lasted 5 minutes before I had to vomit…
You’ll message me to say “Thanks” when you go to Abba Voyage. Get in the “Boxpark” before / after. Actually called “Snoozebox” - just carries on the party. Brilliant.
When my Youngest went to see it. He said it was amazing..Said you just have to get over the first 10 minutes or so. Thinking how does this work. then enjoying it, as for real. Trying to arrange a visit it the not too distant future.
Yep that is spot on as to how i found it. If you go I’d definitely recommend the venue next door for pre/post drinks - absolutely topped the day off.
I believe you, just impossible for me to get anywhere like that. If I could get to London this summer, I’d go see Iggy Pop. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the ABBA show..
We went on the Dancefloor - I’d recommend that. Not too claustrophobic. Enough space to dance. Edit - I always usually opt for seats but this was very easy going.
I went after the play off final, have to say I concur with everything thats been said, it's incredible.
