I’d prefer to ask Northampton, Oxford or Blades fans. Maybe boro was just the wrong club at the wrong time?
A media post about Callum Simpsons fight tomorrow night, with a quip about how Wilder would stand no chance against him.
I wouldn't worry about Watford he wasn't there 2 minutes and if things had gone better at Boro or Watford then he would be miles out of our reach. This could be a perfect match for him and us and if we have got him then it's brilliant news.
Their fans hate him pal, I work with a season ticket holder for them. The trouble he caused behind the scenes and the things the players have since said about him concern me. As others have said though, he’s worked magic at other clubs when in this division.
Really hope that this isn’t a wind up. Not least because the impact on Devaney if he is announced when the fans were excited about Wilder would be very unfair. There would be so much negativity (where there wasn’t prior to this surfacing), it could be really counter-productive.
The Wilder that left sheff u we wouldn't have stood a chance whoever comes in will either have failed somewhere or unproven that's just the way it is.would be over the moon if this is true personally.
Then the club should have assoumced Disco sooner if it's happening they are responsible for the time scales of any announcements.
Make an managerial announcement in case someone puts a rumour on the BBS?? I’m sure there is a reason why an announcement hasn’t been made yet.
Promoted with 3 different clubs!....one of them(Northampton) whilst in administration!.....give over mate, I would love him here but don’t think it will happen.....who do you want like?
I wouldn't say he nearly relegated them. He took them over with them 14th in the table in November and they finished 7th. He was sacked after a slow start to the season, with them in 18th a quarter of the way in.
If it is Wilder then I'm just... confused. Fine appointment in isolation - even a very good one - but where does it fit into this supposed grand plan we have?
He took over from Warnock, isn’t it well known they’re not fond of eachother? Maybe the players loved Warnock but just couldn’t get on with Wilder for whatever reason.
Perhaps he could see the Barnsley job and possible title tilt as an ideal way to restore his reputation close to home. Maybe it isn't that far fetched. However, still a significant scalp if he is our new man.
