Done well at Coventry, could be in the Premier League instead of Luton but for a penalty shootout which is effectively a toss of a coin. Maybe shows the value of sticking to a head coach long term.
Its swings and roundabouts , you would not have hung on to Spackman for example & there have been more failures that have gone through the revolving door at Oakwell than those who have left & gone on to be successful like Robins has , so no in my opinion , if a manager wants away then let him go & if a manager fails the fans will put pressure on to get rid .
He was also told we couldn't afford bringing too many loanees in.His last season we spent over 3 million pounds on loan players alone. The board wanted signings where we could get some money back on our investments.
Rewind ten years and plenty of folk on here would be saying pretty similar things about him as they are Duff.
So would you have stuck with Schopp, or Asbaghi? Because those are your only two options from the recent past. Our problem isn't being slightly trigger happy, it's losing anybody who shows promise the moment another offer comes up. We're not exactly Watford.
When people are evaluating the benefits of loans they should just remember prior to Bobby Thomas joining we were floundering mid table, our season really took off when he and to an extent Isted joined.
Its criminal really how we let Robins go (or forced him to go, whichever way you look at it), and then look at what's happened since. Ignore the fact that he's as dull as Clarkie and Machin and Hart and Davey all mixed together lol, that's irrelevant. I think we were making slow but sure improvement under him, and it could only have got better. I wish he'd taken Cov up instead of it being Luton.
He was sold a right crippler ....when he joined us.. Between the Don and Patrick they let him down big time...with false promises. I had many a telephone call with him about certain players in Portugal that the Don wouldn't sanction....young players that were willing to sign at the time... as I've previously posted about.. Lovely bloke is Mark
It just angers me more and more Shed, when I think about this. To more or less force Mark out after offering him nothing but false promises!.
Haha now that's funny... but I don't think your joking are you. I think I've noticed more criticism against him than praise, which hardly makes him over rated.
I thought we'd signed a gem on his debut v Leeds (5-2). After that he just turned out to be an expensive, drug addled flop.
