I did a Primary Education (BA Hons) degree, so I got that one and it came with QTS. I could also have used the points I gained from the history units as 50% towards a second (BA) degree in History. I don't know what I'd have done with it, but it would be nice to have had it.

Thank you for that comment about my Dad which has brought tears to my eyes - I agree he was a true legend, a full badged FA coach (when there were only 50 in the country), FA examiner and MCC coach as well as my best buddy

    to a tad o/t -
wasn't Lady Mabel (Fitzwilliam) College in Wentworth a women's P E college - according to a relative all students wore red cloaks when out and about?

I'm 72 and I still do some of the exercises my old PE Teachers taught me 60 years ago. They are still relevant despite all the Sports Science. I speak to my one of my old PE teachers wife who is in her 90s.

    :)
I don’t know about the cloaks, but yes, that’s true. In the east front of the big house. There was accommodation & swimming pool etc built in the 60s. I think they’ve been cleared now, but former students still have reunions. Wentworth Castle was initially P.E. too & apparently both seen as National centres of excellence. Producing Olympic coaches etc.. :)

So am I wrong with what I said? If so, I'm sorry, but I'm totally confused now.

I'm not sure what you mean, but your understanding of PE teachers is correct? People on here and elsewhere are suddenly using it as a term to take the mick out of obscure, inexperienced football managers...

I can't think of any reason to give the job to an RE Teacher. But then again I'm an atheist.

Edit; Doh, I should have gone to Specsavers.
