Good luck Neill, I will start judging you after the 10 game mark. In terms of the overall season, anything other than a top 6 finish and you need to be moved on.
Well I'll give him chance to prove himself. Sounds promising from the write up. Welcome to Oakwell Neill.
There's an article on his time at Tampa Bay here. Honestly have no idea what some of the achievements are (wtf is a shutout streak? ) but sounds like he's achieved quite a lot there. https://www.uslchampionship.com/news_article/show/1226368
Decent player in his day. Scottish manager too so I'm guessing he will be fiery. I'm willing to give him a chance. Our fans are toxic on twitter so I've come off it again.
Haha, true! I just don't think we can keep letting head coaches take the piss though. First sign of success and they can't wait to move on as you noted. Well for me it's simple, the remit for this coming season is a top 6 finish and failure to achieve that should see him sacked.
Judge him on his performance, not on his name. Now sign some players and strengthen the squad, please.
Had a good playing career, played under Mick McCarthy, got quite a few honours playing for big teams. Has some experience in management albeit in a much lower standard of league in America. Not sure about his style of play, but he deserves full support. Hopefully Devaney is kept on as assistant or a coaching role, but ultimately glad he’s not got the gig.
Genuine question to anyone chucking their toys over this appointment; which *realistic* option should the club have taken instead? So please, no Wilder, Moore, Challinor suggestions, but actual options. Thanks in advance.
Remember him as a player, was at the deedahs for a fair few years as I recall. No idea about him as a coach but a quick lookup suggests he’s done pretty well at Tampa Bay in a league you can’t be promoted from.
