Only a two year deal this time then. Interesting. I wonder if they've gone down the 'no exit clause' route?
Never heard of him but unless we appointed Arnold Schwarzenegger or Scarlett Johansson as head coach then there was pretty much zero chance of me having heard of them. Looks like a good appointment to me, hope he does really well.
Agreed with his playing experience which hopefully he can carry into his spell here. Slightly concerned we've gone for a manager with only American Sunday League experience though.
Welcome Neill. Heard someone on here mention his name the other day and did some searching about and liked what I read. Of course we all would have preferred a more well known name with a EFL track record like Wilder but realistically wasn't going to happen. I'm much more enthusiastic about this than the Irish one we were linked to or than I would have been if it was Devaney. Similar background to Duff apart from the fact he's managed in America rather than L2. Former defender from EFL who's moved into coaching and done well. Likes his teams to be fit and press high and plays a back 3 usually. Fits the criteria of what we were looking for on paper so hopefully he and the team deliver on the pitch.
There are questions I need answering. Does he have family in Tampa? Will he be driving from Tampa to Oakwell to take training? Does he have family in Cheltenham?
Yeah, you won't be alone thinking that. McKenna and Schumacher had no mgmt experience whatsoever like, before last season, and they did alright. We'll see soon enough.
From their website…. https://www.rowdiessoccer.com/news/...arting-rowdies-to-take-barnsley-manager-role/
If you have a bit of time and want a better insight, listen to his Undr The Cosh interview Hopefully the link works
I think they claim it but they didn’t win it in 2020. It was never awarded in 2020 due to covid. The final was cancelled due to players going down with it. They’d got to the final but hadn’t won the league as such before, they got through playoffs. They won the lot in 2021 though.
"Since Neill Collins’ appointment, the Rowdies have recorded 60 regular season victories in the Championship in 118 contests, a win percentage of 50.8 percent. That’s the fourth-most victories in the league in that span, trailing only Phoenix Rising FC (73), Louisville City FC (67) and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (65)."
My guess is the seppo name for clean sheet lol "Neill Caaahllins coached his team to the W against Chicago Farrh, getting a shutout in the process. Tampa Rowdies' middle attacker put the soccer ball in the ballbag in the 2nd quarter to make the Rowdies the winningest team at 1-to-zero!" *courtesy of FAAHX SPOWERRTS NOOZE
Having done 10 minutes research, I like the cut of his jib. I'm more positive than negative on this one it has no doubt injected a bit of excitement (if you ignore the braindeads on twitter n facebook).....come on Khaled now is the time to release the big news......
