and re bought when we're top by christmas. give the guy a chance for Chrissake. he's not even arrived in the building yet!!
I keep saying it but there's no room for facts on the BBS. Allow the hyperbole to run unchecked please
Good luck Neill. Welcome tut tarn. His credentials are good and he was obviously valued at his previous club. Mek a name for thissen lad. For the right reasons.
I'm reasonably happy with this appointment, it could've been worse for sure. Remember him as a proper no nonsense CH so I expect us to be a hard working outfit under him as a minimum. He's got a lot to prove as I'm guessing he'll be eyeing up his next move in 12 months, hopefully after getting us up.

Good article, plenty of Barnsley connections. It's a shame we can't have Big Mick or Danny Wilson involved at the club in some capacity
Warming to this appointment. Hadn't realised, until I read the YP article, that he'd played under Danny at S2. I think we need some continuity at Oakwell and I'm minded of another Scotsman who was at Oakwell a number of years, Jock Steele. Welcome back to Yorkshire Neill.
Maybe didn't word it very well. His usual formation is 3412 but will switch to 442 in games to close them out. Wouldn't be a huge issue in that respect. The wing backs become full backs and we possibly have a narrow midfield four. Or one of the WBs goes to FB with a CB making a similar move (Kitching did it against Wednesday). The other WB goes wide midfield as does one of the central midfielders (Kane would be capable).
Also played for Danny Wilson and with Maguire at S Utd & with Paterson in USA plenty of connections there to draw on.
I wouldn't be too quick to have a pop. The lads obviously disappointed. Who knows after 10 games we could be top but at the same token we could be sacking him.
Not for me personally. The game has evolved beyond their era, and I don't think their histories with the Club would really resonate with the current squad. It's generations before.
