Being disappointed isn’t an excuse for behaving like a tw@.

Lots of disappointed Tampa Bay fans on their twitter announcement. Can only be a good sign.

It's like Star Trek. There needs to be a changing of the guard. Star Trek Generations and killing off Kirk was a disaster.

Was also Big Mick that brought him down to English leagues from Scotland. He was part time in Scotland before that with Dumbarton.

Welcome Neill. Now we have an appointment, we can crack on and support him and the club. We can all speculate, whinge, moan and take the mickey but some of the stuff on here and online has been embarrassing to see and read. It’s a process none of us have any say in or can change, and we’ve been left in the lurch by Mr. Long Haul. Time to make new ups and downs - probably in a nice black and gold shirt this season. Can’t wait, myself.

This is a new era Barnsley type of appointment, it fits with everything the board has said previously since Conway left.
A young British motivated coach, he has Yorkshire links and has been successful to date.
It's what we should have expected and is exactly what we have got.
    Great work from Khaled.

Like many, my immediate reaction was 'who?' but when you read the bio this is very different to the unknown like Schopp and Poya. He's got a solid career in the English leagues, including for some notable clubs. He went to the US as a player and became head coach of the team he played there. Looks like he had decent success with them too, and he now gets a chance to coach in the English leagues. A risky appointment? Possibly, but also one with great potential upside. Reactions will be generally negative, I'm sure, so expectations will be low.

Literally no-one I'm aware of had his name on their radar, so credit to the club for doing their business out of the limelight. Usually we've worked out who the name is going to be just prior to it being announced, but this one has come out of nowhere.

Welcome Neill and good luck to you. It's a step into the unknown, but not the first one I've experienced with BFC. I hope you prove all the doubters wrong.

PS: His surname scans with the 'Collins Is Our King' line too, for future reference!

Additionally, anyone who chooses to swap a Florida winter for a Barnsley one deserves some credit, in my opinion.

Well at least he's not come for the money, I rather think he was the cheap option. But give the lad a chance if he can make every player give 100pc effort,I'm happy. I just hope he doesn't say we are a big club and that we play the right type of football that he likes, and then I spend all seasons looking up.

No mate. But apparently his Dad used to be in a band called ‘Genesis’ and played the drums on ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’

Is anyone else thinking this has a touch of the "Ted Lasso" about it!
Team doing well, a divorce (board change) and they bring in an unknown from an American team as head coach!

    Whistle, whistle - Devaney! :D

I'd have thought getting someone who wasn't insistent on an exit clause was part of our thinking this time around.
