There seems to have been lots of divisiveness on here over the last 2/3 weeks and lots of frustration and anger (and some insults) expressed by both the 'doom mongerers' and the 'happy clappers'. Even the appointment of Neil Collins today seems to be creating division. This is a forum for all things BFC (plus loads of other stuff) isn't it? A place where folks can express views? I remember the odd wum on here in the past but in my view 99% of posts are from people who care passionately about the club and want it to to be successful. I wonder if the reader assuming positive intent by the poster might help reduce the inclination to tell someone they're an idiot / tw@t etc? It feels a bit strange to have a pinned thread at the top about mental health that it seems everyone supports and agrees with, and then lob insults around because someone has a different view - potentially impacting their mental health. Then again, perhaps I'm being an idiot - I am sometimes.
You're not being an idiot mate, I thought exactly the same earlier in that we have a mental health thread and an emphasis on supporting one another, but then there is clear division between the more positively minded and negatively minded when it comes to the club, especially when things are in a state of flux, and the way people treat each other at times in terms of views on the club goes against the otherwise supportive nature of the board in terms of mental health/wellbeing etc. We can have a laugh without resorting to insults, or immediately jumping on something someone says, whichever way you're looking at it. We're all red after all.
No complaints yet with the appointment irrespective of it being a fairly unknown out of Leftfield, proof of the pudding n that I just hope they back him as the squad is very weak at the minute so time is of the essence. I also hope he can run things and isn’t being dictated from above.
As long as everyone else realises Im always correct when I contribute to a thread there's no reason for anyone to get upset - just accept what I say. Simple.
No doubt that there are some people who don’t think before they fire off an insult. There’s no code of conduct on here, so I suppose the abuse and following arguments will persist. It’s difficult not to respond if someone has a go at you.
I always think people who shoot people down for expressing an opinion that doesn’t concur with their opinion must have low self esteem. After Covid, you’d think people would think twice before attacking someone for their views. We all love the club so we all have a right to express our views. There is no need to be nasty.
