Ryan Kent was years ago and he was okay but lacked an end product, got better with age though albeit in Scottish league. And who wasn’t too shabby last season? We only had one loanee from Prem and he was an absolute donkey.

I think there’s a balance to be found between bringing our own young uns through & taking loaners who can help with more immediate results. It’s always going to be hit & miss. I think we have a generous 40/60 success rate for lads who made decent contributions.. :)

I agree when it’s experienced and older loan players like Matty James, Harry Isted and other players of that ilk. Not when it’s youth players that have less experience than our own.

True, but the last 2 we had with that type of deal (Daryl Dike and Bobby Thomas) didn’t end up signing permanently. Could add Isted to that too and look how that turned out!

This is how it pans out.

players signs on loan with option two make permanent deal, does well then signs for someone else. Rinse and repeat.

I agree but our own kids have to be good enough.
Jalo looks a real prospect though and I'd like to see him involved next season but I'm also happy for us to bring quality players in on loan too.

Don't Liverpool insist we play them every game...which has been a sticking point in the past
