For me any rooerd. Wentworth is getting a new bus, (number 7) runs from Barnsley to Rovrum & back again. Via here, Hoyland, Stairfoot & into tarn. Dropping me right by Oakwell. This will seriously improve quality of life for me & other villagers.. I might even buy meself a season ticket. Unless one of you bed wetting fannies want to give me yours..? Happy days..
It comes back to buses are a service a lifeline to some not profit making thing. Really pleased for you it clearly means alot
Good news that Paul. But unfortunately still no good for night games. You would have to get the 66 to The Market Inn and walk up to Wentworth or stay in the Market all night
Eyup, dog days are over Mr C! I don't mean actual dog days, I suspect there'll always be dogs in your life, and I respect you for that But metaphorically speaking, great news!
Or tek his rod n tackle if he's not against fishing. And claim 1st peg (elsecar res.) ready for the next morning. (Do fish sleep at night ) Hate fishing missen btw.
Saves me £20 in cab fares just getting to doctors, vegan shopping etc. & not having to beg favours getting the old dog to the vet. This is genuinely exciting for a pedestrian saddo, like me.. Bus w4nker & proud of it..
The old 227 was a great route. This looks basically the same, except stairfoot rather than wuz. Just got a basic timetable, so not clear how it gets from Hoyland to stairfoot. Through Wombwell would be handy for some I’m sure. Past Hoyland Tesco would be perfect..
If it hadn't been for Thatcher disbanding county authorities. Most on us would be mate. I didnt start driving till I was 30. As my pit closed (Elsecar) and ended up at Wooley cpp. It was either move or use a car. I chose the latter. 10p adults 2p kids. Anywhere in South yorks. a no brainer. Afore that.
I literally had no life outside the village. Especially since Shenk1 passed away. It’s hard for car drivers to understand. I can be in Barnsley in half hour & I don’t have to go to Rovrum ever again..
Welcome to barnsley mate. I'm sure you'll have many enjoyable trips out. . I know people from Rotherham born and bred that go as their 1st place of choice. What about the US btw.
