Didn't we (allegedly) try to sign him in January? If it's true I'm guessing we got Thomas in on loan after the Hamer bid fell through. Sounds like we made a derisory offer so they opted to run his contract down.

The Bobby Thomas loan was quick work from Duff when Edwards and then Cundy went down in January. Tom Hamer mainly played right wing-back for Burton and was seen as a possible replacement or challenger to Williams but Williams didn't go and we signed Cotter as an understudy.

Tbh I'd rather sign Thomas again than Debrah and Hamer and I can't believe that if we can afford both we couldn't afford Bobby (all usual Nixon story caveats notwithstanding).

I'm very much a fan of Bobby Thomas and would love him back but I don't think it's a case of we can't afford him, I think it's more a case of he won't want to come back to L1.

There's reported Championship interest in him. We did have a deal in place to sign him permanently after his loan but again that was all dependent on us going up.

Cardiff are after Thomas and I’d be surprised if Duff doesn’t want him at Swansea.

Looks a decent player, time will tell but we need to get some players in who are ready for this league. It’s a massive risk to bring in players who haven’t played at this level before.

What about that lad we signed a month ago, who we were calling Casper. And who looks about as hard as a knuckle sarnie with nails in it. ;)
Wasn't he suggested as a replacement for Mads ?.

Be nice to get both. Hamer is the sort of profile we should be aiming for. Still young with room to develop but plenty of experience, especially at this level.

Hamer on the right of the back 3 would be great. He also has a wicked long throw. Debrah in middle with Kitching on the left.

3 defenders all comfortable playing out.

How do you know he isn't ready if we haven't seen him play? Loads of players have made the step up from non league to football league and took it in their stride.

I don’t know he’s not ready, nobody does until we chuck him in the deep end, it’s just a bigger risk then signing a ready made league one player.
