No, but just like football, being a TV presenter is a skilled job that we all think we can do, but very, very few of us could do well...
It's worth noting that as of yet, almost two months after moaning to the BBC, the mother who felt so strongly about her offsprings crack habit being stopped that she contacted the BBC and the sun, has not yet contacted the police about her allegations of criminal activity. I find that rather telling and think that until she, or the seller if the images, does so then it's all a big witch hunt. The BBC shouldn't even be investigating because frankly there's **** all to investigate and it is nothing to do with an employer until a criminal complaint is made, if indeed it ever is. I guarantee that there is more than one BBC employee who regularly pays for pornography of some sort.
I think one of the issues is the BBC’s lack of communication with the complainants, they complained didn’t hear anything back , saw the presenter on TV again some weeks later and went to The Sun
The BBC statement seemed to make it clear that they had been trying unsuccessfully to contact the woman didn't it? But regardless they shouldn't have to. The complaint appeared to be "excuse me BBC, my son sells naked images to one of your employees" at that point the only person who should have been investigated was the son because I can all but guarantee they evaded tax on their earnings
tbf I get it ( not the Sun obviously) she went to the employer m they did nothing an apparently never got back to her ( if so the BBC have learnt nothing from past scandals) and presumably she went for a quick reaction option , the police down there weren’t likely to have got round to it quickly either on current results.
The BBC’s recent history and it being a publicly funded organisation should have been on top of this from day one , the initial complaint was one about an employee doing something that would bring the Organisation into disrepute, which it has again , in an attempt to stop the presenter from doing it
You'll be defending Saville, rolf Harris and schofield next. I'd rather it be investigated thanks as it's a public funded organisation with a history of "wrong ens" working there.
A few weeks ago the sun ran an article about a mother who has an only fans account after following in the footsteps of her now 20 year old daughter who started selling nude images of herself three years ago. The daughter was described in the article as 'inspiring'. The nude images were described as racey. They now run a story about a mother unhappy that their now 20 year old son (I believe) has, for the last three years been selling nude images of themselves. The images are described as sordid. Hmm
Defending nothing. Any criminal allegation that the police act on should instantly cause a suspension from work and termination if found guilty.
