Questioning the actions of the people running the club does not mean that you dislike or want the team to lose.

Some times blind faith can be quite dangerous.

Good explanation, which is almost word for word my position. Thanks for saving me typing time.

There's very, very few of us on here that have blind faith Archer. I myself was advocating not renewing season tickets towards the end of the last relegation season as a way to force the Board out. Biglil had stopped going to matches in protest. Most can see that things are now improved and sensible steps are being taken. That brands us as happy clappers in the eyes of some however.

I look at the model slightly differently. As much as I thought the val year was excellent in some aspects. And let's be honest the use of subs was a massive factor. he had it worked out perfectly the way he wanted it to. But towards the end teams began to work us out and if anyone didnt have a plan B he was one of em. Swansea for example out thought us. So did wendy. Rotherham that season outplayed and outfought us in both games. but the system was working at the time.
I do believe Cole works hard. (I've heard plenty around me at some games where the abuse was incessant. Shouting idle b. When it was clear he'd have just been wasting energy as the play was miles away) Which will not be the consensus.
Norwood runs his blood to watter. But Remember his 1st few games when he was carrying a bit of timber (given abuse) and wasn't half the player (forgive the pun) he finished up as.
Martin hasn't worked out. But now gone. Watters may have also been a Duff choice as he came on loan. Now gone.
Russell is a strange one I admit. I thought in his first couple of games. His reading of the game was second to none. He played simple football. Allus finding a red shirt. Duff probably thought he didnt put the effort in. Hence little game time. But imo he was cool under pressure when we were hanging on in a couple of games. And brought on for that reason. Be interesting to see how he'll fit in to the new managers plans. He does have ability. And may welcome a fresh start.

I agree with all of that. I just meant those players in particular didn't seem to fit the ethos of pressing. They undoubtedly all have skill but I wouldn't ever look at them and say they fit a pressing game.

Completely agree about Val by the way, he only had one style and when it was found out we were in trouble. I actually think that's one of the big problems of us being so public about what managers are told to do. It makes us very easy to plan against. Duff had the same problem, we had no plan b. In fact when's the last manager who really did have a plan b? The system works when it works but when it doesn't we kind of shoot ourselves in the foot a little. All eggs in one basket so to speak.

It does worry me. You only have to look at the last time we won a league game coming from behind. (Behave Stephen) November 2021 v Derby. 80+ games. It must be a record of some sort. And hints at no plan B.
I notice the new manager according to reports. Does favour the press. (The high press was just Val for me) But has got other plans to introduce if necessary.

Yeah the Derby win from behind game, when Schopp had been sacked and Lauman was in temporary charge. It felt like we'd won a cup Semi final that night, and that a weight had been lifted.
But then look at what happened, at home to Hull who were in absolutely awful form at the time!!.
Maybe it was a bullet dodged as to not giving the job to Lauman, but Asbaghi hardly made things much better did he.
